    Thanks for the info on the various internal rads. My RO website actually has a link so I checked that out as well.

    Jazz -- no problem having to go too far out of town--there's not one in Ventura but the RO I've been referred to is in the next city over where I work and he's got the Mammosite. I think my only drawback would be in looking at the statistics on one study where I saw that EBRT patients show a 1.3% chance of recurrence but internal rads were 2.8%. I went through chemo because it cut my recurrence chance from 12.8% to 5%--my guess it was to catch any rogue cancer cells even though my margins and lymph nodes were clear.

    Susan -- I haven't noticed any smell but I have noticed that the first couple of days after my infusion I secrete some kind of grey gunk out of my pores. Disgusting.

    Goats and Tang -- hope you get some heat relief soon. Dogs, goats and Eeyores melting all over the place.

    Jacfin -- hope you had fun on your outing! I read a funny article about your PM rejecting a watch on Vegemite. I tried that when I went to Australia when I was a pre-teen more than 30 years ago and I thought it was completely revolting--like salty motor oil. I say if someone can make moonshine out of it, then at least they found a decent use for it!

    So a couple years ago, I walked out into my front yard, and this "thing" scared me 1/2 to death! I hesitated as to whether to post it, but good taste suddenly left my brain, and poor taste won......

    They are a type of mushroom, I later found out.... I even put one in a baggie, and took it to work, to show some of my funny co-workers.

    I TRIED to preserve this "find" but it shriveled rather quickly. Which is probably good... They DO grow wild... and willy-nilly. Come up for no reason what-so-ever! Now everytime I see one sprouting in my yard, I just stand there and smile...

    I can grow THESE things, but can't get my tomatoes to do anything this year!

    Marlanab- I do know about those statistics and that there is a slightly higher re-occurrence risk with internal rads treatment. Based on my particular case and additional things going on at the time of dx, internal rads was right for me, but may not be the right choice for you.

    The way that helped me to decide which way to go with rads is to have several conversations and then do a pros/cons list for each. When you do that, it will clearly show you which one will have more benefit to you. Whatever you decide for you is the right decision. Making the decision about what kind of rads to have was really the only hard decision part for me. I hope your apt goes well and you get all the answers you need from your medical team to make the best decision for you!

    Frenchfrye, YAY  Walmart. My first excursion out was to Walmart too. I'd forgot that until you said it. I got my first shape up at a Hair Cuttery there. Evening up the fuzz. My hair didn't grow back at the same rate I guess. The big deal was the waxing. They're was this one really long hair and a mustache I didn't have pre-chemo UGH...

    Marley, I agree with Jazzy, work hard on that pro/con list. I didn't have rads, but new I'd make myself crazy if I had to decide. Try and find material related to long term consequenses of rads. I have no idea what the info will tell you. My nursing experience with post rads patients was with patients that had rads that negatively affected the bowel function long term. Bowels didn't like being zapped. Lot's of trouble long term. But I'm clueless with BC.

    Sas - I love glass too! Big fan of Murano but any glass will do. How amazing that my Oz/USA cake stand for Blondie is something that you recognise and own. I genuinely feeling connected to you all through that simple observation.

    Smaarty, safe travels. As an Northern Irish lass, I recommend everything Irish. Hope you get your fill of what the locals call "fiddle-de-dee" music. I love it.

    Marlana. I hate that Vegemite. My dear mother loves it and swears by it's iron and vitamin b properties. Give me lime marmalade or strawberry jam on my toast any day!

    Since I'm talking toast, French Earl Grey ( a specialty blend) is my favourite tea with my toast, but while in hospital I ordered a cup of hot water only "

    Humpfff," said the catering lady in charge "she's probably brought her own in"

    "You bet I brought my own coz your tea is s@#*," said I. " Dangle my Twinnings Lady Grey if you don't mind"

    Needless to say, I wasn't the favourite patient in Jarrah Ward

    I saw something on BuzFeed last night about the indigenous people were making moonshine? Not tried Vegemite may soon. Moonshine here will knock your socks off. Made fromcorn here. Anyway, the Aus PM is all kinds of upset about this. It's a situation similar to our Native Americans getting the shaft from the govt.

    yes Sas....very sleepless. DH is hummpppfffing like a hospital tea lady! But I can't help it if I can't settle. He doesn't get it sometimes.

    Spookie - I'd give the Vegemite a miss if I was you. My mother is a freak. You have to be born in oz and raised on the stuff normally to acquire a taste for it.

    We do have an issue in some of our aboriginal communities with what is known as "sly grog" . Many of the the women have got together and secured a no alcohol policy in their towns but the equivalent of what you know as bootleggers try to get around the no alcohol policies. This has meant moonshine or sly grog has become an issue. Very sad. These women are amazing for their courage. They stand up for their families and try to find solutions, but it is a big issue that I understand is very similar to the experience of native Americans.

    oh Queenie, I have never seen that story! I have to say, the Aussies fought valiantly in Europe and Japan despite having Vegemite in their ration packs! I agree with Barrack Obama......it's horrible stuff

    Last night we had to watch the current Diggers on National Geographic. Looking for the outlines of the original McCoy cabin. DH's GM married a Hatfield and boy did my MIL have a temper when she tried. I think the story was she threw a hatchet at her brothers one time. Think Wren and I have talked about this b4. His GM lived up a stream only way to get there. Louisa KY or there abouts. Anyway they found an old canning jar lid on the show. Of course the hosts said "moonshine". I said heck no, how about green beans to see family thru the WV winter.

    Think I shall pass on the Vegemite but I do see the soup/stew flavoring end of it. Don't think I could acquire a taste for it on toast by it's description.

    Those of you who have been to a luau - my mother described poi as being "cream of old shoesole" taste. I understand the sustaining properties of it but Yuck.

    Found some loose Assam tea. Hope tea never gets old. Pretty good. I need something to kick start me this afternoon. Went out in the less searing 101 degrees, heat index variously 104-111 for a pedicure and groceries. Right back in to the AC.

    Missed commenting on the threesome pics from Florida. Y'all look like a good time was had. Very nice wedding pics Loverly.

    For us Texans - Blue Bell trucks are back on the road.

    Sleep attack sounds lovely. Might happen shortly but washer/dryer on now making lots of racket.

    YAY for Blue Bell. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I thought it was mighty suspicious that same bacteria showed up states apart. In two factories that had divergent function. One commercial and one institutional.

    What was the take on your end?

    Luvmygoats- I was a fan of Bluebell when I lived in TX and we get the containers here in the store in NM. Glad to hear they did not go down like some due with the food issues. We had the peanut butter plant here in southern NM that had the salamonella problem a few years back and it put them out of business. Really hard when that happens to the smaller rural communities, no jobs there when people loose them.
