My 40 year old daughter was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She has 4 children under the age of 12,one of which is a baby. She has a wonderful husband, tons of support from family and friend living close by. But I am her mom and I need to know the best way I can help my daughter. I know she wants me there for her kids but I want to be there for her. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Hi, what a terrible time you and your daughter are going through. I would say take everyday at a time. Just listen and lots of hugs, she will be worried for her children and will need lots of help emotional help. You don't say what stage or grade?

Ok , all breast cancer is terrible but stage 1 is rather good. Wait till you have had all information and you will feel better knowing.

I am telling you from the daughters side of things.  I had everyone around me saying how sorry they were and cancer this cancer that cancer ,cancer, cancer . I needed my mom to be my normal in my crazy new world. If you are close to your daughter as me and my mom you will be her everything through this.  I viewed my diagnosis as everyone around me had been diagnosed because it was going to affect us all.  Just listen to her more than anything. Her world has been turned upside down and it will take a whilke for her to get her feet back on the ground and she will need you now more than ever.  I hope im making sense.  I dont know how I would have made it to this point without her and I still have a way to go .  Good Luck
