Vitamin D3
Hi
I was looking into taking Vitamin D3 and found there are a lot of choices. How do I know what to look for?
Any help is appreciated. 😊
Thank you

I just figured the fewer inactive ingredients, the better. I found one with just D3 and olive oil, in a capsule made of gelatin, glycerin, and water. Olive oil is supposed to be good for us.

I take this one. Got my vitamins d level from 57 to 98 in about five weeks.just about five drops under the tongue, seems to absorb well.

Thank you ladies. I'm seeing choices for raw vitamin D3 & others from mushrooms as well. Anyone heard of these? One is from Garden of Life organics.

I use a drop product similar to Italy's - the brand name is Carlson. It is suspended in an oil which is necessary for absorption. If you take a gummy or pill make sure you eat something with fat of some kind to help it be effective.

Thank you Special. 😊 Let me know to how your next steps for recon are doing.
Hugs

How do you know how much (drops) to take? My MO says she would not test my vitamin D level or calcium level. She said "not necessary." She said if I wanted that to ask my regular doctor. And what levels are we supposed to have? I take tablets, but have no idea how many Inshould take. I take 2. I started Arimidex 1 1/2 months ago.

Mysunshine - I usually look at the Mayo Clinic site for any medical questions since they're a trustworthy institution. Here's a link to a question about Vitamin D dose.

Below is the an NIH chart that may be useful for calcium & Vit D. Note - it's 2011

WebMD is another place you can check.

Thanks, I will look at those!

mysunshine then have your general doctor test your levels. I don't understand that. It was one of the first things my MO tested, and when mine was 86 she said that was great.
I do the drops. Started out with 10 drops which is equivalent to 10,000 iu and got my level to 98 during chemo, then backed down to 6 drops. And I have been tested by my MO four times in 7 months.

Italy, Thank you.
