I got through the first round of chemo so well that they increased my dose of docetaxal (130mg) and Cyclophosphamide (1050mg) but this time I have been admitted with febrile neutropenia, my neutrophils were 5.5 and decreased to 0.3 and temps 38.8. I am on Iv antiobiotics and injections to increase the production of WBC. Hoping to hear from people with a similar side effect.

Taxotere did that to me. I ended up in the hospital for 8 days until I stopped having diareaha and could keep some food down. I was told not to walk outside my hospital room as there were just too many germs out there. I slept about 80% of the time. I did get better over time and my next dose of chemo was much reduced. My third dose sent me back in the hospital with a fever for two days but after running tests I got two units of blood and sent home. My hemoglobin was dangerously low. After much debate, my last dose was even lower. I almost talked myself into quiting and now wish that I had. I have permament neuopathy in my hands and feet that I might have avoided.

Thanks, I am better now. My neutrophils went down to 0.1 and I had a cold but the injections brought them right up to 12.2 and next time it will be prevented by the Neulasta injection I am told, so I am hopeful I wont have to endure 5 days in hospital feeling so bad again. Sorry to hear about your even worse experience.
