BRCA2 and Mastectomy
Hi, I am new to this. I just had my test done to find out if I have the BRCA2 mutation. All my relatives on my father side of the family have died with cancer and now my sister is battling multiple cancers due to BRCA2. I am set on having a mastectomy if my results come positive but I am unsure about something: can I keep my nipples? how risky is it to keep them? I am totally lost.

You can definetly keep your nipples if you find a surgeon experienced in nipple and skin sparing surgeries. The outcomes are not worse with nipple sparing surgeries.

hi aloof I'm 39 years old who recently underwent a bilatral breast mastectomy with extended LD reconstruction with nipple spearing due to having braca 2 gene I had a high risk of getting breast cancer quite a lot of females on my mothers side had breast cancer.
