TC or AC-T??? DF or MSK preferences?

I will be starting chemo this fall after finishing radiation early September. My MO and i were discussing different protocols. She has had good personal experience with TC x4 but had heard that Taxotare was not a favorite of the gurus like Dr.Winer (Dana Farber) or Dr. Hudis (MSK) . I was wondering what lower grade patients at these institutions are on for chemo protocol. I would like to avoid the cardiac effects of AC but if I am going to do this, want the most effective.

Anyone else had to decide between TC or AC-T?

My MO prefers AC-T to TC because about half of her patients don't finish TC. The taxo- chemos tend to produce gastrointestinal distress. However, taxol seems to be more tolerable than taxotere. I got mild diarrhea from taxol; many of my July 2014 colleagues who received taxotere got more explosive diarrhea. My MO has monitored my cardiac issues very closely. I have received heart scans every three months due to chemo and herceptin; so far, my heart seems to be tolerating my treatment. Best wishes and gentle hugs!

My MO also agrees, the AC + Taxol is a much easier to tolerate combo that she sees good success with - I was unableto feel my lump after 3 rounds of AC - she monitors cardiac issues also very well. I inquired about getting the TCHP combo instead as it's timeline is shorter, and she agreed, it would be shorter but much harsher on me.

For an alternative POV, I was presented with the exact question. My MO presented data on both regimens. Given my stats ( somewhat similar to yours) 4 rounds of TC was recommended as the reasonable choice. I am currently half way through my 4. I'm doing fine. I've managed the SEs well. Everyone responds differently. FWIW - my tumor was huge and therefore not eligible for the oncotype test. If the ROI is virtually the same, I'm not sure why one would do the 3 drug/longer regimen -- but I totally get we are all diff. I should mention that my regim automatically includes beginning Neupogen injections for bringing up cell counts 2 days after chemo. It does not appear that everyone gets this. I mention this, because for me I immediately feel better with 24-36 hours and am mostly back to normal with a few days.
