Positive- very sharp! I think Ida gone fer it

Back in Illinois for infusion 6 tomorrow (#2 Taxotere/Carb). We've had bad turbulence on every single flight to and from. I get my bloodwork done this afternoon, mind/body message at 9am tomorrow, meet with MO and team at 11, Picc line at 1:30, infusion from 2-6ish with on-body neulasta, depart 9:30am Tuesday for airport, back in az at 3pm. Then I can proclaim that I am 75% done with chemo...2 more to go, 6 more weeks. 2 and a half weeks ago, I told DH I didn't think I could take anymore. We'll here I am. Chemo can knock me down, but it can't take my will to get back up even though I know it may kick my heiny again and again and again. I will keep getting up no matter how many times it knocks me down.
Someone please remind me I said that in 3 or 4 days.

Positive, look at you! Makes me think of the song Sharp Dressed Man! lol And your hair is really getting thicker!!
DizzPark, just reading your schedule makes me tired for you. The massage sounds sooo nice tho. Hope all goes well with few SE....you're almost done!
-
Positive, it's a hot gender-bending look for you!
-
Positive - I love it! Jealous of your hair growth though. I am 4 weeks post last chemo and just some very sparse white stubble. And if it's possible, I seem to be losing more eyelash and eyebrow hair. *sigh*

Thinking of all who are in the chair today. KB, think it's #11? 2nd to last!
-
headed to Look Good feel Better this morning. Let's hope the director actually shows up this time.
-
So if a thundercell was a lucky sign last time, what is a tornado warning worth? Lol
Turns out it was lucky. I had face to face contact for only the second time with another BC patient. We had to shelter in place in the hotel basement, and I ended up being able to get a ton of really helpful advice and support. She finished taxotere in May and is now on AI and Herceptin. She was able to answer a lot of q's I have had in the back of my head about taxotere. We were also able to bond over having a common confidence in coming here for treatment despite the inconvenience. We are on the same every three week Monday schedule, so we'll be able to keep an eye out for each other.
-
dizzparkmom that's awesome that you will have someone to share stories with and get advice from. I wish I had that. I am currently the youngest at my clinic going through breast cancer treatment (29) I so badly want To find another woman my age at the center and connect with her
-
positive Spirit, I love it!!!
Addie, I hope the program goes well today !
Dizz park , glad you are safe and met a fellow BC sister. I hope your side effects are minimal.
Lynn, you're right. Taxol #11 today and then #12 on the 11th. MO set up bone density testing, and then I will have rads starting 2 weeks after chemo. I see MO in 2 months and will start Femera
-
KB - two weeks after chemo! You are lucky, I'll end up being 4 weeks PFC when I start, but we'll likely be on similar schedule because that puts me starting the week of 8/24 also.
Wishing for minimal SE today and for the next few days.
Lynne
-
wishing everyone minimal side effects, good mental health and some peace. Today is going to be a good day..for Addie at the Look Good session, for KB at infusion, for all you doing rads, for Andrea's hair growth, for Dizzpark avoiding tornadoes, for Lynne on a busy week, for Gingerchi who will visit me one beautiful fall, jackiebirdie out there in Oregon, Stephmoen who will heal quickly, ksusan who keeps us grateful, littleblue who makes us laugh so hard, oh.....all of you wonderful women....I could go on. Have a special day
-
AMEN!
-
Andrea, eyebrows are definitely on the way out. Left side only has one brown hair left (white ones chose to stick around a bit longer)! Took a nice week long break from cancer with a family trip. Just what I needed. I start tamoxifen on 8/9 and a bit concerned about SE's, but trying to be positive. First order of business right now is getting of the weight I've gained since diagnosis in December. I am still very fatigued 3 weeks PFC. Couldn't do my usual hikes on vacation, but got in some good walks. Also couldn't do the stand up paddle board which I love. My core and legs were just too weak. Made for some spectacular and amusing falls into the lake though! Onward

Kbee- thinking of you in the chair today! Almost there
-
And. Then. There. Was. One. One left!!!!
-
Congrats KBeee!! - I can't even imagine how excited you must be.
-
kbeee hooray!!!
Thinking of all of us today!
Very crappy day for me as I'm just out of it in a lazy fog and extreme fatigue. Resting, hydrating, peeing and repeat uugghh...but each day this week will improve.
-
Hi, ladies. I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks, but my MO ended my DD Taxol infusions today due to drug intolerance. He says I've had plenty of chemo, he's comfortable stopping and the Taxol was just a little extra insurance. So hallelujah, I'm through! Radiation consult on Aug 12, to see what happens next.
Good luck to everyone at the end or close to the end.
-
Wishing everyone a SE-free week!
I had a weird encounter this weekend. I was in an elevator full of people when a woman asked me, "Survivor?" I wasn't sure what to say and didn't want to ignore her or reply falsely, so I replied, "So far. You?" She nodded and pointed to her pink ribbon hat. My feeling was, Lady, we're in an elevator with other people, I'm not wearing any breast cancer paraphernalia, you don't know who these other people are or how your question might affect me in relation to them, so contain yourself! I felt conflicted, annoyed, and self-conscious for the rest of the day.
-
ksusan- that does like a serious invasion of your privacy and most annoying.
I would vet the next elevator, scan for any hats with pink ribbons, heck, any pink at all on the loose, and defer in favor of the next ride up. You've been warned!
-
KSusan - I'd be irritated too! Love the new avatar! That's one mean sheep!
-
KSusan, An elevator full of people is not the place for that, though I've also had people approach me in the grocery store, etc. Maybe if you were the only 2 in the elevator, but saying that in front of others is tacky, though I am sure she meant well. When people newly diagnosed ask me for advice, one thing I always mention is that people will say stupid things. Just expect it. You don't have to like it or take it without saying something, but just expect it. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked if I appreciate my free boob job, or this time around the people who snarkly say, "will you really be done this time (like I had control over my recurrence or have some sort of crystal ball)?"
GKO, Congrats on being done. How are you feeling?
Renee, I hope you feel better really soon.
-
gkodad, CONGRATS on being finished!!!! Good luck with rads!
YAHOO KB!!! That has to be a great feeling!!
Renee, sorry you are feeling yukky but hope you're better soon!!
ksusan, Oh gosh, no wonder that made you uncomfortable!! Its like people want to connect but have no clue on the right way. You would think she would realize since she's been through it!! Sorry it put you in a funk!!
I was stopped in CVS on Saturday by a lady with pancreatic cancer. She just asked me "Are you taking chemo too?" I guess my scarf gave me away. lol It was a private conversation, so no audience to make me feel self conscious...and I actually enjoyed talking to her. She doesn't have a good prognosis and I found myself at a loss for words at times, but she was so pleasant and cheerful, like a breath of fresh air almost. It was bittersweet talking to her, and just reminded me how much I hate this damned disease!
Well, its Taxol #5 tomorrow...who all is at the bar with me? The numbers are dwindling since so many are DONE!
I'll be SO GLAD when I get there, I think I'll be the last one to finish.... and 2 more months seem like a lonnnnng time. I'll get there tho!
-
I'd have been happy to talk with her, take her for a cup of coffee, etc., but really experienced her as "outing" me in a crowd.
-
Kbee - feeling great emotionally, glad to be done. Neuropathy is pretty annoying, I've developed some eye issues, and my liver enzymes are up, but everyone seems to think everything will be fine once my system gets rid of the taxol. Hope they are right.
KSusan, I went to UPS to mail a package with my headscarf on. The lady looks up, says "oh my goodness...can I pray for you?" I'm not a particularly religious person, but how can you say no to that, right? I had no idea she intended to start praying right then and there, in front of all the other customers. Long prayer, too. I wanted to crawl out of the store, even though I know she meant well. Funny how some things suddenly make you feel like a "cancer patient" instead of a normal person.
Now, I ALWAYS wear my wig to the UPS store.
-
Gkodad that's so awful it makes me laugh with discomfort!
-
gkodad, Oh my gosh! That would have embarrassed me to death!
I've never been outed in a crowd...sorry it happened to you and ksusan!!
-
Well, my 80 year old mother just outed me on Facebook! She made a donation in my name for a Cancer run and then tagged me in a post about it on Facebook! I have conscientiously not referred to my breast cancer on Facebook as I have many "friends" who don't need to know and send me sad private messages. While my diagnosis and treatment are not a secret, I have not broadcast it. Quickly untagged it and explained to my mom what "tagging" means. Poor thing, she meant it kindly!
On another note, just called my boss to arange my return to work date and he told me they might not have work for me for awhile. The perils on contract work! I guess I'll be spendings more time on recovery - which I need, although 7/31 was the last day of disability.
-
Howdy! Ok Addie, how was the class and are you an eyebrow master ninja Yoda now? Spill your secrets!
Positive, lookin SHARP! You have so much hair!
Kbeeeee! Yay almost done! You a badass!
So many of you hitting the finish line! We are awesome!
Ok, what's with people asking intrusive cancer questions? I feel for you all who have suffered this. So rude! Although better than the side eye possibly. I seriously never thought I'd be discussing my breasts with dudes at work either. It's a strange new world...
Ladies near the forest fires- hoping you all are safe! Sure is smokey here...
