Waiting for first appointment--should I have had MRI already?

The first appointment I was offered was 2.5 weeks after my diagnosis. I keep hearing about people talking about the MRI results, and I'm getting the impression that was done immediately in most cases. I'm concerned largely because I'm Triple Negative, meaning that I desperately need some kind of good news--I have GOT to have clear lymph nodes!!! I don't want to wait until a week after surgery (whenever that might be) to find this out.

sorry for your diagnosis and the wait is the worst

I was DCIS and never had an MRI, that was 8 years ago so try to hang on till your apt, your doc will decide what is needed, try to stay busy now, yoga is good at helping to calm me

Hello, I just had my first appointment last week without MRI done, although an MRI has been ordered by the surgeon since the appointment. I was instructed to get my blood test done before MRI can be performed. My understanding is that MRI would provide confirmation of the biopsy result and the staging of BC before the surgery. Your doctor and the care team will share information with you and walk you through the process at your first appointment. Try to keep your normal activities. Hang in there!
