edited August 2015 in DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ)

finally got my pathology report. Pure DCIS!!! Yay!! No invasive found. Jumping for joy here.

But.... One of my margins is less than a 1mm so I have to go back in to get that reexcised. The DCIS went from 1.7cm to 6cm. :o. Much bigger than they thought.

But it's all grade 2/3 and no invasion. So happy.

Dr wants me to get my genetic test results back before going back in and see if we reexcise or do a bmx. If my risk is high he wants bmx. I'm good with that. At thigh point I don't care, it's pure DCIS and I'm happy

    Great news! Definitely a relief!

    I'm curious if you'd share your hormone percentages? Mine was just ER+ 25% and PR+ 10%. Also the architecture was micropappilary and cribriform with comedo necrosis, grade 2 and & 3. I think I got VERY lucky. It's so interesting that it hadn't changed to invasive. I'm I've got a 1mm margin on the chest wall, still tumor board said no Rads..... I guess the fascia acts as a barrier and they feel that is sufficient.

    I'm 95% estrogen, 70% progesterone from my biopsy, I'm not sure from my lumpectomy. I'm going to pick up my path report tomorrow and read it. My biopsy was solid and cribiform with some necrosis. My dr said my lump path was grade 2/3
