Clothes after Tram Flap or DIEP

What type of clothes did you have prepared after you came home from the hospital? When I went through chemo and hysterectomy, I favored drawstring pants and soft t-shirts. I'm afraid that I will have a hard time getting something over my head. Any ideas?

Thanks so much,

Sharon

I purchased high waist yoga pants- they were the only thing that didn't rub against abdominal incision- don't forget high waisted panties like I did! Thankfully the hospital gave me a few pairs which did until I could get out and buy some! Also front button tops, I had MX with immediate diep so raising my arm was not allowed for 6 weeks.

I got a couple of pairs of loose inexpensive draw string warm-up pants from sports authority. I guess every ps is different - I had no limitations with lifting my hands over my head (even immediately after DIEP surgery) though the sentinel node biopsy did limit my range of motion on one side for a few weeks. I used loose tops - button down were best but also regular very loose, very big t- shirt tops worked for me.. Not clothes- but a shower chair is helpful to have.

I bought some extra large pjs from Walmart and lived in those for a couple of weeks. Then elastic soft top/drawstring pants worked, but tight rigid waistbands were uncomfortable for a log time, especially if sitting.

Front fastening shirts on the roomy side are good, or stretchy vest tops that you can pull on easily without lifting your arms, .... that li.d of thing.
