Hi everyone, I was diagnosed last Monday with IDC and have an appointment with my BS next Tuesday. I am so glad I found this site and have been taking in every bit of information I can so I am well informed when I meet with my surgeon. I was not surprised when my pcp told me I had BC as I am the third sibling of 4 to have BC. My oldest sister is cancer free 26+ years while my other sister passed away last year as she made the very personal choice to not do any treatment and lived her life to the fullest for over 7 years.

A concern I have is I am my husband's caregiver so this is definitely going to be a challenge and if there is anyone else who has been the only caregiver for a spouse, parent or child I would love to know how you got thru it. I did take a mini break in June knowing I had discovered a lump and spent a few days with my sisters and family at the Jersey shore before I went for my mammogram and biopsy which was the best thing could have done.

The recommendation of the pathologist is for me to have a bilateral breast MRI with contrast for multifocal and contralateral breast disease. Too say I'm scared and stressed is an understatement. So just looking for some answers and information from others who have had other close family members diagnosed with BC.

    Xjerseygrl,
Sorry you have found yourself here. You may want to check out the Lumpectomy Lounge where I know there are several ladies who are/were primary caregivers for others please post your question there. I am sure they are more than willing to share their experiences.

    Take care!
