Any positive reports?
Is there a thread somewhere that has positive posts about Tamoxifen? I haven't started yet and all I find here is the doom and gloom of Tamoxifen. Does everyone have a terrible time or do the positive outcomes just get less reported?

Hi Cmo65,
We're thinking it's likely the latter -- hopefully your post will be the initiator for a positive thread about Tamoxifen results.
Let us know if you'd like us to edit your thread title to something more specific so others are aware we're talking about positive Tamoxifen experiences!

cmo65, I have been on Tam since May of 2014. Everyone reacts differently and if you decide on it, and it gives you too many SE's, chances are you will have other options. For me, Tam has given me hot flashes and leg cramps once in a while, but very tolerable, considering the possible benefits. My half-sister took Tam when she was in her 30's and quit after 2 yrs because she said it made her too moody. I am post-meno if that helps. Good luck with your decisions! They are not easy ones.

Hello cmo65,
As you can see from my info. I have been on Tami for almost two years now. Like keepthefaith I have had hot flashes and some cramps in my feet. Both have lessened now since I am now post meno. My MO brought up the subject of possibly switching to an AI at my last appointment in June, but we decided to stick with Tami since I am feeling very well on it. I am 48 and a runner, presently training for a half marathon, and did not want to risk a new barrage of possible side affects, MO said either drug is appropriate for me at this time and was comfortable with staying the course with Tami. Fingers crossed, so far so good. Good luck with your decision.

Thank you, ladies, for the encouragement. I'm happy you are both doing well.

I just wanted to add that I've been on tamoxifen for 6 months now. I feel perfectly fine. I do get hot flashes and like the other ladies a few leg cramps, but most of the time I don't even know I'm taking it. I've talked to my MO about staying on it for 10 years instead of switching to an AI and she said I could. I think it's true that a lot of women do fine on it and since they are doing well no need to post about it. Hugs
Nancy
