Jazzi was adorable, and I loved the story. Please don't apologize for the long post. It was perfect. I hope you can get a new fur baby soon. I know it will make a big difference in your life, mentally and physically, as you may be more active getting both of you out for walks, all the best to you...
-
... thank you Jackbirdie... I hope I can soon. I will definitely post a pic of the new family member!
-
Jackbirdie, I love that picture of your dog and cat. My rat terrier and cat have never gotten along. He always wants to chase her, and she always wants to filet him.
Ducky, that little puppy is just way too cute!!
Mommy, good to see you back. Hope all is well with you! Happy birthday to Jackson!
Jazi, It is so difficult to lose our furbabies. My older dog hasn't been doing too well and I'm just dreading the day we lose him. He will be 16 at the end of the year. Jazi looks like a sweetie pie. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can open your heart to another friend soon.
-
SlowDeepBre… Thank you...
Yes, it has been harder than I could have ever imagined. I loved that dog and she loved me and my son so much. She was such a gentle soul.
.... so sorry to hear that your fur baby is not doing well...
I am ready for a new puppy, but I have to get a CT scan next Friday and I don't know what the outcome of that will be so I want to make sure that I am healthy enough to take care of a new puppy. And, I have to be prepared to pay anywhere from 200.00 to 275.00 at the local rescues.
-
Sending good thoughts for your CT scan. I hope all goes well. Please keep us updated. Gentle hugs to you!
-
... thanks again!... and I will definitely keep you posted. Now I just want to shut down and take my mind of this for awhile. Have a nice night!

My pups snuggling with my dad as he recovers in a rehab hospital after a small stroke...
-
lekker... so cute... such loyal companions... great company for your dad during his recovery.
-
Thanks Jazzi! I hope your ct brings you good news.
I rescued my pups last October. They were $300 each. A lot of money but still cheaper than one purebred from a breeder. I knew when I saw their photos online that they were "mine".
-
I couldn't give Spookie a bath and deal with her hair during chemo. Sent her to groomer. Who showed me her foster child, who was up for adoption.
WHAT WAS I THINKING??????
3 days later he was ours. I was pretty sick from chemo, but he's a good boy.
-
Spookiesmom: I'd have done exactly the same thing. I took a second cat, the day after I was formally diagnosed, just because I knew I'd want a distraction, and sure enough, I'm glad I had something to think about besides treatment. He's our preexisting cat's brother/littermate, but they've forgotten one another, so a fair amount of....well, of catfights, and of exchanges that make me Real Glad I don't understand what they're actually saying to one another.
-
lekker... thanks!
... and receiving love from, and giving love to these fur babies, is "priceless!".
The money goes towards other rescues and the one where I hope to get a pup from is a no kill shelter. They also have a lifetime guarantee on the pet if for some reason in the future you are unable to take care of the pet you can return it. That is reassuring because you never know how living conditions, health, etc., can change in the future and I would want to know that my pet will be well taken care of. As I mentioned earlier, Paws charges $275 for all puppies under 6 months and $200/6 months and up.
-
Spookiesmom… awwwww he's beautiful.
-
Kris' rescue group has the same take back deal. That's good for all involved. I think his adoption fee was $250. That helped pay for his dental, chip, and general vet bills. I think he was already neutered before rescue got him.
-
Puppies go fast here in Chicago, but now that my son has a car we can look further out in the suburbs... bigger selection! Here is a photo of the dog that I almost bought last month but at that time couldn't afford... she reminded me so much of Jazzi...
... and this is Jazzi
-
oh wow! How close they are!!!!
-
You'll find the right one. It might have been hard with one so closely resembling jazzi
-
... that's true. I know, I am just so ready for my puppy fix!!!!
-
ummmmm
Puppy breath. Nothing better!
-
leeker, your babies are adorable!!
I try to stay away from the rescues. I have two dogs and a cat right now. It is so difficult for me to walk away. I'd like to adopt them all.
-
... yep... I can't wait!
-
Furbabies are such a comfort when you are feeling down
-
my bro in laws dog, waiting for daddy to come home. He's 13!!!
-
i love the way he sits on the stairs! -
Funny story about this dog. Bro and a grand were out, somebody had a box of free puppies. Grandpa can we get one? Well, what kind are they? Lady says, chichiuwawas. Ok. Wrote on the papers chi. Which I can't remember how to spell.
Kinda grew, didn't he? His name is Taco
-
That is no chihuahua,,,, or a very large version. big ears! -
Yeah, it's funny how some of them sit on the stairs - obviously, Dozer does it too.
-
Love how Jackson lets me know his Daddy is home, he goes bananas and when daddy comes in he quiets right down and meets him at the door!
-
That's the only time Kris barks. And he goes berserk!!!! Stinker lays on the couch, watching the street. House closed, a/c is on. How he knows daddy's car from the others is beyond me, but he knows.
Tacos mom had told him daddy would be home soon, so he parked where he could see out the door.
-
Taco is one smart boy!
Jackson does bark at the mail carrier, and people walking by too, but most of the time, he's just laying around being such a good boy while Princess is tearing around the house!
