Hi Ladies,

I just found out that I need chemo, not sure which mixture. I will also need Herceptin. I know I can't drive to and from chemo what about in between treatments. My oncologist did say I would get a light dose of Chemo.

Thanks

It will totally be up to how you feel. First day of a new treatment I would have someone with me, because you just never know. Later treatments would depend on how I faired during the first round. Herceptin has not bothered me, I receive every 3 weeks, take myself to and fro.

Driving in between - all depends on how you feel. As far as I know there are no rules, we all just use our best judgement.

    Be well

    Nel

Generally, between chemo sessions you can drive as long as your feeling well.  Some days I felt like crap and had my husband drive me if I had somewhere I had to go.. During herceptin alone you can drive yourself. Good luck to you.

I stopped taking public transportation and started driving to work while I was on chemo - it was flu season and I wanted to avoid catching bugs. I did not drive on infusion days though.

I had friends drive me to AC, but I drove myself to all others both this time and in 2013. It all depends how you feel. I felt fine

I drove to All appointments, except for surgery days.

It will depend on your chemo protocol. Some get Benadryl, that will make you groggy, in which case your chemo center may want someone else to drive you. I drove thru out chemo with no problems.
