C25K Week 7, Day 3 this morning. Blessedly cooler - 65 degrees with lower humidity. Much much better for getting outside
-
The housework I had planned on doing today is done. May even do the kitchen floor a bit later. Still planning on getting some excercise done tonight!
-
headed to Palm Desert for a few days!! Lots of sweating, walking, and hopefully weight loss!!
-
Changed from cleaning the floor as I was thinking I may do to working on my flowerbed.
-
Have fun, Kathy!
A beautiful Wednesday in North Dakota. Here's the Walking Women getting ready to roll.

-
Did over 1100 steps today so far!
-
M0mmy - I was going to ask you to come do my floors when you were done with yours!!!
Kindergarten - maybe you can take the Palm Springs Tram up to San Jacinto and do some hiking up there - it will be a lot cooler! I was in Palm Desert a few years ago in May - did backcountry hiking in the snow one day on San Jacinto, then did hot desert hiking to the 49 Palms oasis in Joshua Tree two days later - quite a contrast!!!
-
lol Nats, floors are tommorrow's task.
Just finished with the workout I had planned on this evening, I did a full 20 minutes on the Gazelle. Now I am dragging!
-
Exercise today was 1 hour of aqua jogging, 30 minutes water aerobics plus some leisurely swimming. Also spent a half hour or so gathering goodies from the garden and will enjoy a BLT with fresh fixings along with a side of cucumber for dinner tonight.
-
A very fun Zumba class tonight!
-
Today I walked 4 miles and rode my bike. I enjoyed visiting w/ a friend and having coffee at a new coffee house. We had our coffee before the heat took over the day.
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement, for the past 3 weeks I've been to copious doctors appointments had skin cancers biopsied and then back to get them removed then my pap and mammogram I think it all just caught up with me and also it's the week I was officially diagnosed so I think that stupid anniversary date was playing into my psyche as well.
Tonight I went up to Long Beach and did Body Combat and Grit with an old friend, when I came home he had posted on FB and he ended his post with these words "you inspire every instructor and everyone in every class you do!" .... and I too want to be just like Harriett, now she's a real inspiration to you all my wonderful Sculpted Sisters
-
Except for sweeping and Swiffering my kitchen floor, this is my rest day. Back at it tommorrow
-
Cheryl, glad you are feeling better; I have two helpful words that should get you all the way back on track: SPA DAY
-
Kitchen floor cleaning is done! Enjoying the rest of the break from housework or excercise til tommorrow
-
Hi! NatsFan!! We love hiking up there, so cool and refreshing!! We might go tomorrow!! That aerial tram is wonderful!! Yoga was cancelled here this morning so went to the gym and walked!!!
Ruth, love the pictures of your walking group !!
Cheryl keep feeling better!!
Mommyoftwo,cleaning is wonderful exercise!!!
-
Just catching up on all the news since I haven't been on all week. Walk on Monday 40 minutes, Tuesday 25, Wednesday 27. Maybe nothing today. Its quite hot so I'll either go when it cools off in an hour or do double time tomorrow.
Cheryl I understand the bad day but I still remember one time you went to some class/event. I believe there was a disco ball involved and a young lady told you "You rock". I loved that story and I want to be the lady that rocks! I've had a bit of PTSD this week myself just from going for a regular check-up. I don't know how to handle that. Every appointment and every call from the nurse sends my heart into palpitations!
Claire those were some beautiful pictures. What a treat to hike among that scenery.
I did dust in my living room today if we can call that 5 minutes of exercise! Any of the ladies that want to "exercise" at my house, ie clean, can come on over. I'll mow your lawn and weed your garden if you'll vacuum, mop and dust. I'm just not an indoor kind of girl.
-
You can come over & clean my house too when you are done with TwoHobbies. A domestic goddess I am not!
Did Cardio Sculpt this morning & Zumba tonight. Hot, humid & under a thunderstorm watch here.
-
I don't mind house cleaning but love to put on some tunes like Mommyoftwo for inspiration. Unfortunately today was not a housecleaning day but I did do several loads of laundry between playing in the pool and going to bootcamp. Tomorrow I have my annual oncologist visit
-
Blah! If I could, I would send you one of the sleeping pills I have specifically stashed away for the 'night before appointments'......that is one thing that hasn't gotten easier for me over time. Let us know when you get the 'all clear'!
-
hi all and welcome Mandy. Just back from vacay and had a great time. Nice to see everyone and Mom was thrilled to meet her great-grands. I walked an hour every morning except the day I got turned around due to road construction and wound up in residential neighborhood cul-de-sac purgatory. Walked two hours that day before calling for help LOL. Glad I did, apparently those neighborhoods were put in such that nothing connected to the cross-street I needed. With two airport days, I'm posting 24.5 miles walked.
A bunch of us went to see Minions - hilarious! Lots of late-60's references that my SIL and I got that the 'kids' didn't and we were laughing so hard!
Keep up the good work everyone and good luck tomorrow odie! ♥
-
7/23- lovely hour of yoga at the gym tonight.
-
15-20 minute workout tonight
-
Badger - Minions looks cute, and I love that kind of humor where there's something for the adults as well as the kids. LOL on getting caught in cul-de-sac purgatory - I've had that happen and it's really annoying! Good luck today Odie on the oncology visit - my annual visit is next week. Funny how many of us seem to have annual visits right about now.
C25K Week 8, Day 1 this morning. Saw 5 bunnies, plus two deer curled up under a tree calmly watching me huff and puff by. They were relaxed, just enjoying the dawn I guess. The C25K program has me up to running for 28 minutes straight at this point, and I always tack on an extra 5 minutes of running at the end, so I'm up to 33 minutes of straight running again. Slow, but steady. It's nice to be back to doing that kind of running - I really got soooo deconditioned this spring.
If anyone is thinking about wanting to do a little running, I can highly recommend doing a Couch to 5K program. The one I've been using is an app that I downloaded to my phone - the software company is called Fitness 22, and they have all kinds of other apps - 0-200 situps in 10 Weeks, a 7 minute workout program, and another one that I've been doing - 0-100 squats in 10 weeks. They start you off slowly, so you don't overdo and get injured, and you work up gradually and safely. You can take it at your own pace, and if you need to repeat a few days till you're comfortable and ready to move to the next day, you can do that. I have an iPhone, but I think they have an Android app as well. Also, a lot of local running clubs have programs for absolute beginner runners, so if you're more of a social type, you can check that out as well.
Off to the cabin this weekend!
-
Sounds like I need to track down someone to go to Minions with me.
I'm off to yoga in a few minutes and then I have a list of things that I HAVE TO GET DONE TODAY!
-
Dying to see Minions.
Go Ruth Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I am headed to yoga too!! It was cancelled yesterday!!!
-
Happy Friday everyone! Today I walked 3 miles at the beach w/ my sister. It was a beautiful morning at the beach! I had to drop my daughter off for a fishing trip, so I decided to go walk the beach. Changing up the scenery is a good change.
I took my daughter to see Minions movie the other day, very cute movie. We went to Build a Bear afterwards, so she could make her very own Minion. We are trying to get all our fun in before I go back to work next month
-
Took the whole week off work so slept in 'til 6:30 this morning (woo hoo!) then walked for an hour while still cool. Good thing, it's starting to rain now.
My oldest nephew, age 35, said he was laughing at the movie, his mom and me cracking up AND me putting on my hoodie, then pulling it off, then fanning myself, etc etc, you guys know the drill. Just you wait 20 years kiddo! Good advice from auntie badger- do NOT laugh at your wife's hot flashes!
Sharing a video that makes me proud to be a Badger.

When Ann T. joked she wanted to be escorted out of her last chemo tx by a marching band, little did she know her niece would contact the University of Wisconsin Marching Band to do the honors. ♥

Badger - hee, hee, hee - now that's a Chemo Graduation Day done with style!!!!
