KBee sorry about your toe- enough foot breaks!
Positivespirit a very happy birthday! Is it the 25th? Mine is the 25th (also) turning 57. Here's our next nurse! Sorry, couldn't resist an early present....
-
kbee..sorry to hear about the toe. At least you did the right thing and got it checked out. I broke my big toe once and never made time to get it examined. A couple weeks later, I couldn't bend it anymore and ended up at the dr. anyway. She said "big toe, always go!" I ended up having a month of physical therapy for my broken/immobile toe and it still aches sometimes. Embarrassing!
So, good job being on top of it!
Positive Spirit - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I like your plan about starting one of the best years of your life. It sounds like an awesome idea to me.
-
kbee, meant to ask you if you remember....how long after your taxotere did it take for your mouth to stop feeling like a grenade went off in it? I finish the last tax/carb 9/14.
I heard back from the dermatologist today about my biopsy. Weird results that I hope have something to do with the chemo. They said it came back as a benign sample with abnormal characteristics....???? So it was sent to another lab for more staining/testing. What the heck? Why couldn't it have just been simple? Does it seem normal to assume that the chemo in my skin cells confused the pathology?
-
Dizz, let us know when you get the final path results. And, yes it makes perfect sense for chemo to confuse everything.
Kbee, so sorry about your toe. That is just not right!
Lots of birthdays -- I'll be celebrating my 57th in the chair tomorrow.
-
My birthday's at the end of next week
-
WOW Positivespirit, bluedog, slv58: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope I didn't miss anyone else.
Dizz hope for peace while you wait for path results. No future tripping allowed.
Kbeee can't wait to see how you jazz that boot.
-
Many Happy Returns to all celebrating their birthdays this and next week!
I wish us all many many happy years to enjoy
-
Blue dog a very a Happy Birthday! Yipeee- celebrate with gusto girl! 57 is our year, I feel it!
Ksusan, when is yours?
Dizzy, stay positive, it's good they are on top of this and have sent it out. When do you get results? We're standing with you
-
Blue Dog, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope the chair is kind to you today and you feel up to a real celebration!!!
We have alot of July babes in here!! Love it! Blue Dog, Positive Spirit, SLV, and Ksusan, wishing you FABULOUS, wonderful birthdays as special as you are!!
kbee that totally stinks about your toe!! You may go through a boot or two with your activity level!!
Dizz, Hoping for good news from your results!!
-
Thanks so much for all the good wishes. The chair wasn't bad. I really didn't mind going -- I kind of view it as a good thing: one tx closer to being finished. Happy near birthdays to positive spirit, klv, and ksusan!!
-
Hsppy Birthday Blue Dog! I am glad all went well in the chair today.
Dizz, I got my taste back about 7-9 days after each Taxotere infusion. The white fuzz muck mouth lasted about 2-3 days, but I scrubbed my tongue with my toothbrush to try and help it along.
Wondering if I should ask MOnif my steroid dose could be reduced. I get 20 mg of Dexamethadone each time. I know steroids can impede healing.
-
I'm still laid out a week later!! This has been the worst one for me, but it's the last!😊😊😊😊😊 horrible mouth, crazy heartbeat and I get wiped walking to pee. OVER THIS! Happy birthday to the birthday gals!!!!
-
I'm going to celebrate my birthday by peeing every 90 minutes. Woot! Are you with me, ladies?
-
Just this second, got a note that my pap was negative
. Still waiting on the HPV.
Since I'm double-posting, I'll also say that the friend visiting is someone with type 1 diabetes who had an aggressive breast cancer when she was just shy of 33. 18 years later, she's doing well with no recurrence.
-
OMG.... slv58, you read my mind!!! I laughed so hard at that hot new nurse! Happy birthday Ksusan, bluedog, slv58! Wishing all of you a super, fantastic, special day.
I asked friends who have been very distant throughout my treatment (they live in another town and have been my friends for over 20 years) to come together and host me a cookout. Yep, I had the balls to do that. And they agreed.
I would have never dared ask anyone to do such a thing pre-cancer but now I'm getting a bit sassy. If they had said "No", the backup plan would have been to drive out to the beach.
Meanwhile, I am off to see the psychiatrist about depression at Mass General Hosp tomorrow. Here we go, one giant step at a time... In all honesty, I am glad to go and determine how to handle post-treatment grief (I've been reading a lot about this), tamoxifen, and coming to terms will everything.
Kbeee, your poor, poor toe! This is not fair at all. Wishing you some good rest and speedy healing. You have been so strong, provided tons of information, taught me how to better my self-advocacy skills, and more.
Oh I do wish all of you a wonderful weekend, smokin' hot nurses, minimal SE, and plenty (PLENTY) of love.
-
Here are some hot gentlemen who are also veterans with amputations. Note that they are smokin', as are all of us with our own altered bodies: http://www.aol.com/article/2015/07/23/amputee-vete...
-
Insert inappropriately heavy breathing here for those veterans...now, where are the commensurately attractive amputee ladies??? Come on internet, make my night!
Happy birthday everyone! I hope it's everything you want it to be! I want to give each of you a giant kiss on your lovely fuzzy bald heads!
Sorry yr feeling yrrrrrrrky allibeths! Hope you feel better soon...wait. you will feel better soon! Awesome!
How are you Dizz? Results yet?
How's everyone else???
-
Ksusan, thank you! Nice treat and such brave men. Would love to do our own "April" version and celebrate our own new special beauty.
-
Slv, if you figure out how I am so in! What a great idea! Also, your hot nurse looks just like my postmastectomy night nurse. Mmmmmhmmmm...also, did you notice he's wearing a flight suit...swoon..😊
-
Lucky you!!!! I'm not very tech savvy- don't even have photo shop but if anyone is up for a challenge or ideas...
-
-
Little- as you yourself say, "jet fuel only"!!!!
KSusan- great news on the pap !!!
Positive- so proud you are taking that giant step. It's a big one, but I've done it and just doing SOMETHING about how you feel is therapeutic and beneficial. And good for you for asking for that birthday party.
I couldn't agree more that Kbee has been and is a wonderful and natural leader. You April gals are lucky to have her.
-
Hi everyone I haven't posted in a few weeks so I thought I would give you all an update. I finished chemo June 10 and 3 weeks later started radiation . Time flies I have 4 boosts left and I am done with this shit. On a work related note, I got a text from my assistant principal asking if I wanted boarders up in my new room. WTF they moved my class and no one told me. They assumed that I new. Oh well
-
-
Happy birthday gals! I, too am a July baby..7/11. And my sign is Cancer ! That's real funny.
I can appreciate a smoking hot nurse or even some sexy amputee vets...thank you!
Good for u Positive for asking your friends to do something special...you deserve it!
Alibeths, hope you recover soon...feel better.
Kbee, take care of that toe!
Addie, I know that we had treatment the same time this week, so you prob feel like I do, right about now. I always get a leg cramp in the same spot every week, and today it was so bad, I was limping!
Starting to feel like garbage. Shaky and yucky. Tomorrow is my bad day, so thankfully, a friend has offered to take my kids swimming, so I can sleep and not have to do anything.
-
No dermatology results until next week at earliest. Apparently it's a slowwww process. Thanks everyone for keeping me company while I wait. P.S. Thanks for all the eye candy!!! Who does one speak with to request that nurse for their upcoming surgery? Just sayin'!
-
Hi all!
Happy birthday to you Cancers!
Hope everyone who hits the chair this week has minimal SE's.
A delay in the start of my radiation. The RO who is covering for my regular RO is concerned about the swelling on my right side (which I am taking antibiotics for). I don't think it's a concern because it's not painful or red, but he wants to examine me before we start rads. So I see him next Wednesday and start rads the following week, if all is okay.
Oh well, all I have is time. In the meantime, DH and I are enjoying our little holiday. We're in the Okanagan valley in BC...warm and sunny
Staying with friends who are like family...so nice to see them
Andrea

Hey Rockerwife, good to get an update from you!! Congrats on being so close to DONE! I remember your posts about your students when we first started this journey...seems unreal that school will be starting again soon! (....or at least it does here....Aug 12th) We've been through alotta crap since April!! Nice hair you've got growing there!
Yay for good news on the pap, ksusan! And thats great about your friend!
Alibeths, sorry you are still feeling yukky..hope that turns around soon!
Glad you are still enjoying your holiday Andrea!! It sounds so nice! Hoping for good results on whatever is causing your swelling!
Gingeel...I'm a Cancer too....oh the irony! It didn't dawn on me until you mentioned it.....
Positive Spirit...BIG HUGS to you! I hope your visit goes well today, you are brave to face this head on. I can imagine grief plays a big part in all of this!! The cookout sounds like fun, I'm sure your friends are happy to be a part of helping make it a special, special day! Good for you on asking them!
Today I see the MO to be cleared for treatment on Tuesday. I'm feeling pretty well...fatigue hit a little yesterday, but I think last week it was Saturday before I felt like I had been hit by a truck.
Hope that everyone has few SE and a good weekend in store!
-
Rockerwife: Good to have you back! Your hair coming in looks great! How is radiation going?
Andrea: Enjoy that vacay...hey, delays happen for a reason right?!...
Gingeel: Happy belated Bday to you too. Wow lots of cancers in this group. LOL
Kbeee: How's the toe? Did you jazz out your boot?
Hoping anyone in the chair today has low side effects and prayers are coming your way!
-
gingeel I feel lousy today. Eyes burn and feel right. Head hurts and I'm completely exhausted. Also my back hurts. I moved dirt yesterday and ever since my back has been spazzing. I don't know what I was thinking ever since I've had these damn expanders put it my back hurts if I do too much. Hope it isn't like this with the implants. I hope you can get some rest Gingeel. I won't be able to until tonight when it's bedtime. It's supposed to be nice today and my kids will want to go in the pool and spend the day outside. No rest for this momma.
