Does this seem too fast or not enough information?

My BFF had a biopsy for microcalcifications last Monday. She waited for results and ended up calling them yesterday (the Monday following the procedure). They had her come in with her husband and she is scheduled or a lumpectomy this Friday. (My information is sketchy because she was not up to an in depth discussion on the phone and needed to contact her Mom.) It seems she has no paperwork from yesterday's appointment and this strikes me as odd. I'm hoping to be able to read up on her particular diagnosis but all I have is "it's something lobular." Needless to say I've been reading everything I can find but without more specifics it's hard to know what to focus on. I'm wondering if perhaps she just left the paperwork behind accidentally or she is just so rattled that she doesn't realize she has it. I can't imagine the doctors would be sending her in for surgery without more information. I'm hoping to get more information later today but in the meantime I'm going a bit crazy with worry. Any thoughts?

    hello,

    Somewhere there is a full pathology report that she has a right to have. The doctor who gave her the news should be able to print out a copy. There is also the more formal route of requesting her records from the institution that holds the records.

    The reports provided to me have been patchwork. I got the first one but not much since then and I just started making a conscious effort to collect them at each consult appointment.

    Good luck. No matter what, it is scary, but more specific info helps.

    I had to ask for a copy of the results. This has happened each step of the way so getting a written report isn't to be expected. Asking can get you what you want.
