I've just started AC chemotherapy. My doctor gave me the option of having it every 3 weeks (traditional) or every 2 weeks (dose dense). Anyone have thoughts/experience with this decision? Thank

my surgeon pushed for every 2 weeks. The oncology board approved it. Some studies claim you get another 2% odds of survival with dose dense. I got a Neulasta shot after each infusion, 24 hours later.

I took a leave from work. I could not work during chemo. Lots of ladies do, reduced hours. If you do have to work, every 3 weeks would make sense. If that is not an issue, I would chose dose dense.

I hope the "red devil" is not horrible for you. Dose dense also speeds up the process.

I did dose dense AC and it was manageable, but I wasn't working. You basically have 1 icky week, then 1 week to recover, then you're at it again. It does make it go a lot faster. You can wait until after your first chemo to see how your body handles it and then decide. Good luck to you

I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant. A/C was not bad at all and did not slow me down at all. My 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant was not so nice to me - I was complety and utterly EXHAUSTED the entire time on it.

No one can tell you what YOU will experience - we are each unique and there are no 'set in stone' rules that IBC has to follow. It is unique in itself as compared to the other types.
