What brand tamox do you take and what are your side effects?
What brand tamoxifen do you take and what are your side effects, including any "better" effects? Have they changed with time? Or with the time of the month in your cycle?

I do not take tamox, but I am bumping your question to the top of active threads, hopefully someone will respond soon!

I take Teva brand, but I've only been taking it for ten days, so I may not be a great source of information. So far, I haven't noticed any SEs at all that I can attribute to the Tamoxifen.

I take Apo. Teva and one other brand I've tried resulted in more bone aches, hot flashes, and fatigue. The pharmacist says I'm an odd duck…most people find Teva to be preferable. It took me about a year to gradually build up tolerance to it (at first I felt like I was on a lighter version of chemo and did have to go off it for awhile). The only things I really notice are a metallic taste, bone aches, and fatigue but I don't know for sure that it's the Tamoxifen. No change in symptoms related to a cycle…aside from a few weird periods after chemo, treatment kicked me into menopause.

I also take the Teva brand. Other than some hot flashes I really don't have any side effects.

Teva brand and only SE is weight loss. I am thin to begin, but my new set point is about 10lbs than I used to be.

Thanks, everyone, for your help! I am taking Teva and have been on it for three weeks. I tried Watson for one day but it felt crazy bad (like head was exploding, as if I'd taken tons of pseudoephedrine). Teva is starting to feel like that now too. Seeing doc next week to find out what to do. I am not going to stop taking Tamox no matter what. My mom's friend stopped and now she's dying from metastasis. Bug hugs everyone! Keep positive! We'll make it through our treatments!

I started Teva 12 days ago. I am having fatigue. I was on Arimedex before and that impacts my joints severely so I have moved to Tamoxifen. My chances of reoccurrence are low (~5%) so I am not sure if this is going to be worth it. Question: Does the fatigue adjust over time? I am having hot flashes too; but they are not too bad.

I worked outside Sechelt at a children's camp for 4 summers. I just love your part of the world. I wish you good luck with your health.
