Hi, Stella !! how are you feeling these days? -
Hi Glennie..............well Stella had a seizure about 1 week ago, after being seizure free for 10 days............we just live from seizure to seizure.............once they get her med tothe right level maybe things will improve..............she is now at 2,000 mg of Pheno......not sure how much more her poor body can handle........so sad
Thanks so much for asking..........
-
awww, Ducky,, so sad. Is Pheno the only med she is on? Have they tried any others? I remember a friend who had a dog with seizures and she was on primidone. Mostly kept them under control. Give her a hug from me. She is such a cutie. -
She is also on Keppra..............just hoping they find her levels.........
-
Poor sweet Stella. Makes me want to just kiss that cute face.
-
Well this time Stella went 16 days.......she had a seizure yesterday at dinnertime..........so sad........my poor daughter just lives seizure to seizure......last one was 10 days..........this time it is 16 days......who knows maybe they are getting closer to her level................
-
Oh Ducky....that poor dog. I think I told you my DD's dog has seizures too. Certainly not as often as Stella. I really feel for your DD and her family. I hope they get control of them soon.
-
Me too, me too............

Jack has been such a good boy tolerating my new ratter. He is (obviously) a terrier, and has never been around a kitten before. If he sees adult cats outside, I think he thinks it's a raccoon and wants to chase. This little girl stuck up for herself and they are becoming buds. So proud of my boy.
He does look a little like "Mom, how long is she staying?"
-
Awwwww, so cute!!!!!
-
Ducky: 16 days,, maybe they are getting closer. She may never be seizure free, but if it happens only 1 or 2 times a month, that is a big improvement.Jack is so cute with the cat!! ahhhhh.
-
Glennie your right......that would be very good.........my daughter had to go to visit 2 colleges today for my grandson who will be preparing to leave next year.,.........he went into Philly to visit the University of Pennsylvania, and Drexel University....................
My daughter had to put Stella in the kennel at their Vet who takes care of her when she seizes just to be on the safe side............even though there is me and her MIL, she doesn't want anyone to deal with it..............even though nothing may happen........
Such a shame, and they have 5 or 6 more to visit this summer...........
-
My new great grand puppy........another Bully......my grandson in Chicago bought her....This is Maddie.........
-
OMG,, she is adorable !!! -
-
Above is Antonine and Kevin.....holding Maddie...........next is Maddie being held by the Amish breeder they got her from.
-
look at those BIG paws! i want to kiss that smooshy face. -
Glennie, I am going to Chicago in August to see my grandsons.........Kevin and Antonine are married, and Patrick has his own home too, 'and lives close to Kevin.........I will get to meet Maddie then........Patrick has a gorgeous Pit Bull names Zoey.............a cutie too
-
that's great that you will get to see the grandkids and the grand-dogs too! -
Today is a special day for my Sheltie boy, Jackson. He turned 8 this morning! We got him his favorite special treat, pig ears.

... yes sciencegal, I totally understand! .. My dog Jazzi (... my screen name is in memory of my fur baby)... was my constant companion through my treatments in 2006, she stayed by my side whenever I was home. History... October 1999 my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer and had just completed her radiation treatments. One Saturday, walking home with my then, 8 year old son from the grocery store, we saw a man in the parkway off the main street with 3 puppies. Of course I had to stop and pet them, they were all males. I mentioned that I would love to take one but my mom had a male at home and that it was too bad that he did not have a female. He said that the female sibling didn't want to come outside and went inside to get her. when I saw her I knew I had to have her... I asked him how much he would want for her.... he replied, "I'll sell her to you for a penny!"... SOLD!!!!... I brought her home and my mom just loved her... she was just 5 weeks old, a Dalmatian/Setter mix with a black patch over one eye. this was Nov. 11th... unfortunately, my mom developed pneumonia and died on Nov. 29, 1999... so this little puppy that my mom adored, helped me get through the loss of my mother.
... 15 years later, my beautiful, loyal fur baby died in my arms suddenly on Dec. 14, 2014. I am still heartbroken and miss her terribly. My health has taken a hit... i.e., weight gain, higher cholesterol & LDL levels, etc... Fighting my way back, but it hasn't been easy. I am ready for a puppy but I want to make sure that I am healthy enough to get one... I have a CT scan next Friday, July 24th.... this is the longest I have gone without a dog in my life, having one is very therapeutic for me emotionally.. I need something to take care of!!!!. Here is a pic of Jazzi
... notice the little white thing in her mouth?... that is one of my son's diabetes glucose strips!... she was so amazing because she would take the smallest object, i.e., paper clip, penny, etc., and position it in her mouth, right in the front, where you could see it... I watched her pick up something and she fiddled with it until it was positioned just right!... amazing... always wanting to please, I think she also had a great sense of humor too!... I remember one time, I said out loud, "where are my eye glasses" ... next thing I knew, I looked down and Jazzi had my eye glasses in her mouth!... I don't know where she found them! She will be missed
... sorry for the long post.
-
Awwww she was a sweetie. Totally understand needing another fur kid. Good luck with your search.
-
... thank you!
-
What a sweet dog, Jazzi. Best of luck with your search for a new furbaby. -
Thanks!
