Quote box feature that's pretty standard on most message boards
I wish there was a quote feature so you can readily quote at least a snippet of the post you're replying to. I know there's NO way to get people to routinely include the name of the person they're replying to, although this would solve the problem, too. On some of these really active threads, four or five replies can pop up and it's truly not clear which reply goes with which post.
Most of the message boards I use have a feature where you can click "quote" on the post you're replying to and then add your reply under it, so both appear in the same window.
I understand that all that quoting does take up space, and I guess y'all have managed without it, but I'm finding it confusing.
Otherwise, great board and fabulous community.

* Highlight the part you want to quote and click ctrl-C
* Then go to the 'Post a Reply' box and click ctrl-V
What you want to quote should magically appear!.

Thanks ruthbru, for giving JaneQPoppy a way for her to quote, but it doesn't solve her problem with others not referencing what they are responding to.
We are sorry that our 'engine' that drives our Forum does not have the quote feature, but there are pros and cons in that quote after quote can be referenced and that repetition can be very space consuming and, at time, make reading the Topics harder.
Thanks For the feedback though, it has been passed on.

This has been dead for awhile. Please, do not change the system to a add quote thing. It works very fine the way it does

I think I'm getting even more confused than usual....
Jane, is this what you mean? All I did was highlight part of your post, then R.click,.... hit copy...... then take it to where you want to "drop" it, then R.click, and click "paste"

Maybe it makes a difference, using a phone, ipad, lap-top or computer? But this way has always worked for me.... I wish we could help you more, than we apparently haven't..... But everything seems to be working great for most of us.....
Sometimes our threads travel really fast, and we like it that way.... We help some people, or even make them laugh.... The main thing, is we just don't stay on one subject all the time, but if someone asks a question about their side-effects, treatments, we're always here to help them.

The website went through a major overhaul some years back. We used to have a "quote" feature that was just like the tabs we have now for bold, italic, etc. It was one of the things that disappeared with the change. I think that might be what Jane is talking about. It is standard in most message boards and we did have it at one time without having to cut and paste. The quote showed up with the words highlighted and annotated. I miss it too.

YES. (My bold.)
That's exactly what I'm talking about. And thank you for saying, "I miss it, too."
But clearly the subject is dead. So let's drop it. I'm the odd one out all over this board.

For what it's worth, I miss having a quote feature here, too. Especially on the threads with greater traffic, where someone has asked a question, a few posts back, and I want to answer it, without sounding completely random and OT (because the discussion has moved on).

Thanks for that validation. The quote feature makes it easy to know what the poster is replying to. Most people don't bother with the cut/paste option. They just reply...and when there are such LONG threads with so many cross-conversations going on, it's hard to know what people are replying to. Especially when the reply is something non-specific like, "Yeah, that's exactly the same experience I had!" Even if someone replied, "Yeah, JaneQ, that's exactly the experience I had," then you have to scroll upwards to find out what JaneQ said, so you can see what experience the person had that she is agreeing to.
