Rak - Yes, I work....I think....It's hard to tell these days with all the time I have to take off every time I need a surgery.  Tomorrow is right eye cataract.  Not looking forward to having another black eye to match the one from two weeks ago.  If I had known my eyes were going to be so black and blue I would have told the surgeon to do an eye lift while I was under.  I live in sunglasses....lol.   Where in Brooklyn are you?? Maybe we could meet up before we can get the other sisters to join us.

Let's all pencil in Aug. 3 since Jean will be here.

Jean will be in the city at Sloan Kettering for a 1hr. infusion scheduled for 1:30. That could start anywhere from then till 4pm. I would need to keep you all updated on timing by cell phone. Love, Jean

After making the trip about a dozen times through the spring, I'm giving myself July and August off of the travel to spend more time with my girls who are home for summer vacation. Don't let my schedule hold you all back from meeting though! And if anyone is up for it in September, we can schedule another visit! My appt is 9/17 at 1, also midtown.

I am having revision surgery on August 12th. My left breast was radiated back in 2004. When I had my exchange surgery on April 9, 2014 it looks bigger than the right side, so I mentioned to the PS that I wanted them to look symmetrical. He said it would not be a problem, he would swap out the left implant and make it smaller to match the right side.

If any of you ladies had this done, will I have to get a drain? I know I should had asked him, but I forgot. Do I need to take off a lot of time from work. He said it would be same day surgery. Any replies would be appreciated.

I'm having a revision in the fall. I was told no drain, a lot less complicated, a couple days down-time, and it's same day surgery.

I'm having my second revision on August 6th. I had one in March. No drains and recovery was nothing compared to the mastectomy. My doc said I only need someone try o stay with me the rest of the day of surgery.

arlene, robin and Jean and all other NY sisters - Is August 3 still good for everyone to get together??  Any thoughts on where we should meet??   Should we do an early dinner??

Arlene and Robin - you've both been pretty quiet.  I hope you are both healing well.

shorfi and justamy - that makes three of us now having revisions in August so I figured I better start an August 2015 surgery sister thread.  Hope to see you there.

Hi Amy! Good to see you! What's with surgery again?Singing I remember when you were having such a hard time and it seems you're better now.

    Smile

My PS admitted she put in the wrong implant for my five foot frame - I had complained to her for months. She wanted to do it soon, and I told her flat-out she screwed-up my surgery and she's not screwing-up my summer. I am seriously considering a second opinion.

Jilly, I did heal better after my exchange in March. I was never pleased with the looks of the implants though. Hopefully it will help getting larger ones. ..I'm getting 800 saline ones this time. I have rippling and very small looking foobs...they are very large around and about flat... My PS is not talking fat grafting or alloderm so I'm not really optimistic ...sigh

Amy - hope it works out for you this time!

When I look at my chest I think "What was she thinking????". Mine are squarish and kinda flat...like small shoe boxes. LOL

    Hi everyone!

I don't know who might read this, but here goes....

I went down to Florida to visit my kids, and my soul was filled again!

I missed them so much this past 11months, that I could not even think of them without crying!

They are so precious! They were very happy to see me also!

They all said how great I looked, which made me feel good!

My oldest daughter's baby girl is due in November!

She let me feel the baby move in her, I put her on my lap and wept for 20 minutes!!!!

What a beautiful experience to see my baby becoming a mommy! Of course she looked at me as though I had ten heads!

I didn't want to leave them!

I slept on my stomach for the first time last week! That felt good!

I go to see my PS next week concerning rippling and this awful animation that the pectorals do!

I pray all is well with everyone of you ladies! God Bless you all!

    Hi Robin,

Good to hear from you and that you are doing well. Sounds like you had a nice visit with your kids.

Good luck at the PS appointment. Do you think you'll need a revision? What is happening with your pectorals?!

I'm hoping that this Monday I will find out when I can have my exchange surgery. I don't think they will want to fill me up anymore.

    BB I don't know what I need!

To me there is more rippling than I would like to see and I still think I am going to need fat grafting.

When ever I am doing anything that is physical with my upper body strength, my pectorals move. the breast move like what men do when they are flexing their muscles.

I hate how it feels still! And I really don't like how it looks! I don't know if I just have to get used to it still!

Robin, that's too bad that you hate it how it feels and looks. You'll have to live with it for a while. I hope your PS has a solution for you that you will learn to like.

I saw my PS today and it looks like I will have my exchange in a month. I hope I don't hate mine, because I sure do not like my TE.

Robin I know that feeling about the breast flexing. I hate that and imagine still feeling that flex after all this time.

Shorti and BB, I just don't like that weird feeling.

I guess I will have to learn to get used to it!

I'm sorry I don't mean to give the wrong impression, I don't hate them, I just didn't expect as much rippling as I have.

I am really grateful for how I look in clothes, I just have to get use to them!

    I don't mean to complain!

I hated mine prior to this surgery but I'm going to love these because I'm not doing surgery again. I had it last Thursday ( went from 600 to 800) and I have been sick ever since then from anesthesia. I'm not doing it again unless it's necessary. I had rippling too and general weirdness. Plus they looked so small. They were like less than a b cup and I'm a big girl so I looked flat chested. I think now I'll be a C. He moved the cavity up so they sit higher. He doesn'do fat grafting or alloderm. I guess I'm getting nipple recon and tatoos cause its important to dh

As for the peck thing...it is weird. I decided to swim a few weeks ago after not doing any ROM exercises ever. It felt great but I started having spasms in my pecks. I told dh I was having cramps in my armpits cause its really hard to pin it down. Then the next few days I was soooo sore...reminder to exercise or else!

I know what you mean, Robin...I have the anatomicals. Hate, hate, hate that feeling. Lying on my stomach at the beach? An absolute no. What a gross picture.

    It should be better!

I hope all of you are doing well!

    hi rak!

Let us know how that goes. My pec is so obvious, wnenever I move. I also have an area near cleavage that looks "deflated."

My PS said no rush to fix, he'll look at it next momth. I don't know if its worth more surgery?

I hope everyone is feeling good! I am back to work full time...working on feeling Life!

    Hugs!

    Arlene
