i am going to say something crazy

Options

i just finished my 8th round of chemo yesterday.I am now done. I should be celebrating. But I kind of want to keep going.

why is 8 the right number of treatments? Part of me wants to ask for more chemo. I tolerated both the double dense adriamycin and the taxol quite well.

Can you maybe once a year do a mini chemo protocol? Like do one or two rounds of chemo just to kill any stray cancer and prevent spread?

Even typing this I know I sound crazy. I am clearly having difficulty transitioning to the next stage.

I remember saying the same thing. Different chemo, I had 6 sessions / treatments, but I asked if it would help if I had a few more. My hair was out, my toenails were lifting, water tasted like crap, but if 6 was good, how about a few more!!!

    Onward!!!!

Thanks for the replies. I am starting tamoxifen in a couple of weeks. Maybe ovarian suppression too given my age. I am hoping that will make me feel like i am still being aggressive in fighting off a relapse. I dont know why I feel so sure that I am going to relapse. I am guessing this must be common.

Ask your Dr! No one here can explain what your DOCTOR thought was best for you! There is no 'One Size Fits All'. We are each unique and different Doctors are different.

I had. 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant and 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant. There is no one TX plan that is best for each individual - we are unique. Most other IBCers will do A/C and Taxol neoadjuvant instead of doing neoadjuvant and adjuvant as I did.

Ask your Dr the questions - he/she is the one who can answer your questions. No one here can - we can only give our experiences.

Next month will be 6 yrs since IBC DX and still NED. Being ER+/PR-, I have been on Femara/letrozole for about 5 1/2 yrs.
