hi I have a question for anyone who has done the breast tissue expanders...I just had my first fill and have noticed the side that was affected by cancer has a scab on it from the injection did anyone else experience this thanks all replies would be greatly appreciate

    I saw your thread. Have no answer for you.

    When I had my fill...they cleaned with beta-dyne, put the needle in, removed it, and placed a round bandaid on top. They told me to shower that night and remove the bandaid. I didn't shower until the following morning and was worried but I couldn't even see a mark from the needle.

    Did yours heal at all yet? Did your film go the same as mine? Maybe different protocol affects results.

    Hi:

    I had my first fill two days ago. Went just like Eee3. They prepped the area, gave the injection and placed a small bandaid. I am very sensitive to the adhesives in the bandaids and tape and get a rash around that area, but there were no problems with the injection site. If you are undergoing or have undergone chemotherapy or radiation therapy, your skin may not heal normally. You might have more bleeding and thus scab formation after a needle stick. The main thing is to make sure the area around the scab is not getting red or showing signs of infection. We are more likely to get infections due to the "foreign body" expander, as well as the drains providing an opening, and any adjunctive therapy affecting our immunity. How was your pain after your first expansion? My doctor injected 100cc (he had injected 240cc during surgical placement of the expander). The injection and initial expansion was fine, but I had a moderate amount of pain under my arm and around my shoulder blade for about 24 hours afterward. I ended up taking some tylenol and 2.5mg oxycodone to make it more tolerable.
