Cosmetics stuff to help with the physical changes w/chemo
I don't see a forum talking about stuff like wigs/scarves/tatoos, etc. So I'm posting it here. Since I need chemo 100%, I'm seriously thinking of getting my eyebrows and eyeliner tatoo. I have dark brows and lashes that are nice so it will be a huge shock going from dark to 0.
Anyone do this before surgery? Mine is in about a month.

I would not do that since your hair and skin may change after chemo.

I've actually decided for sure no on the eyebrows but the eyeliner. I called and left a message for Timeless Skin in Los Gatos, CA. Can't believe how many 5 stars! Someone was diagnosed with cancer and is very happy with the brows/eyeliner job she did. Not even sure I can do it with this 1 month till surgery thing. I know after surgery I won't be in any mood.

I agree with Jen. Chemo's likely to cause havoc on your skin, your eyes will likely be overly watery or dry...too many variables. Hold off on the eyeliner until you know and I'm glad you decided against the eyebrow tattoos. I have yet to see one person with eyebrow tattoos that doesn't "look" like eyebrow tattoos, even with 5 star reviews. They look ok at a distance...but. I'm sure there are good inks out there, but I've never come across a single good job. Good luck with surgery and chemo.

See if you can find a Look Good Feel Better class near you. It is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, free, and they give you a bag full of awesome makeup. It was a lot of fun and you get to meet other ladies going thru a cancer dx as well.

For eyebrows, I had good luck with the tarte brand eyebrow makeup that comes in a little glass pot with a special angled brush to go with it. I told the make-up store person that I needed something that would stay on and that had no parabens, and that's what she recommended. I had enough brows left to guide me on where to draw. And I just used eyeliner on my top lid to stand in for eyelashes. When I wanted to, I added matte eyeshadow, peachy blush, undereye concealer, and lipstick. Incredibly, people would spontaneously tell me I looked beautiful! (And it wasn't that lie to the cancer patient and tell her she looks good thing.)
