thanks all. As predicted, I am back in hospital for a couple of nights whilst they try to kickstart my immune system. But feeling fine, son is feeling better and only has 2 exams to go and the dog comes home tomorrow. So itwill all be good. Sorry rather off theme ... But I do have a scan coming up in July.

Results are not good. Progression to the bones. Liver mets are stable... Onc wants me to continue with Navelbin and she will add another medication - still don't know what.

Kiss, I'm sorry to hear about your results in the bones, but at least the liver is stable. Good luck with the added meds.

My scan was yesterday, too , but I won't get results until the end of this week/beginning of next week.

Nervous????? Me???? Why would you think that?

Um, yeah, nervous. Pass the cookies please.

Bosco, ย hope you're being treated well in the hospital and they've been able to kick start your immune system!

Leah, praying for good results and sending postive thoughts your way as well as all the cookies and ice cream you need.

Kiss77, so sorry to hear of the progression in your bones but so thankful your liver is stable. Praying the new meds kick everything back and you have stability for a very long time. Cry if you need to and have all the ice cream you need as well. Sending healing (((hugs)))

    Hugs to all, Annie

Kiss - sorry to hear your results. Are you on the Bone Mets thread - I found it really helpful when I had a bone met diagnosed in Dec ( and Zometa seems to have held that in check). But good news liver is stable

Leah - praying for good scan results for you. I'm joining you on the sofa as my scan has been brought forward to next week (otherwise it was going to clash with our 20th wedding anniversary parties and that didn't seem right). So oat and raisin cookies maybe.

Annie - thanks for your kind thoughts.

Scans show progression, so Navelbine is out and Doxil is in.

Oh Leah, I'm sorry to read your news. I will get my second Doxil infusion this week. So far, so goodโ€ฆ the worst part for me is my feet are red. I don't know if you've been on Xeloda, but the hand/foot problems are similar from what I've learned. But some people have no problem with it at all. Go Doxil!! Time for ice cream AND cookies, I say.

Wishing all who are waiting on results good newsโ€ฆ

    Rose.

I had a CT scan today. I had 4 cycles of Abraxane since the last scan showed new lung nodules. Really praying that those lung mets are gone. I am seeing the doc next week. Please send prayers and good vibes. Thank you, ladies.

Hope you get good CT results Hansaim.

    Hi everyone,

I received a frustrating phone call from my med onc yesterday. He called (which I appreciate) to give me my liver biopsy results- finally! But, he said it showed no cancer. My scans have showed dots everywhere and small lesions in a few places. This is my second liver biopsy to come back no cancer. I realize I am great at hitting the smallest odds ("you have lessthan 10% chance of recurrence...." ha), but seriously?!?

I hate being glass half empty, but I am not happy. I am at the top centre in my area. You would think their success rate would be a little better?! I guess I was counting on this test to give some answers on why my CT Scans keep saying "everything else stable, but small progressions in the liver"....I am frustrated. Maybe taxol has done its job quickly and knocked the cells out? I get my CT Scan results this Tuesday.

Sorry, just needed to vent! You are all in my tthoughts! Hope everyone's cancer cells are taking a beating!

Leah, hang in there- praying doxil is the one!

Kiss, I hope the comments about stable liver have helped. Playing whack-a-mole is not fun, I am the reverse....everything else stable but liver doing its thing...sigh.

Hansaim, hoping the lung mets are gone too!

just had PET/CT scan and results (get same day results so minimise scanxiety) which were good. Only remaining signs are 2 lymph nodes with decreased levels of activity. Now just have to find a way of keeping platelets in a safe range. So grateful - wishing good results to those waitin

Leah, so sorry to hear of your progression but praying doxil is very effective for you!

hansaim, visualizing your lung mets gone! Sending all the prayers and good vibes I can muster.ย

Modum, I'm so sorry, I know that has got to be frustrating. Where are you in Toronto, Princess Margaret? I just had a friend go through the same thing, I guess liver biopsies must be hard to do. I am glad everything else is stable but totally understand you wanting a clearer answer. Praying taxol has knocked those cancer cells out!

Bosco, so lucky to get same day results and I'm so happy for your positive news! Sending positive thoughts for your platelets to stay in a safe range.

    Hugs to all, Annie

    Hansaim....prayers & fingers crossed!

    Annie...cute pic!!

Modum...they better be right if they're saying no liver mets or I'll come have a little chat w/em!!!

There Are Worse Things Than Scan Prep

I might fall in the shark tank when I visit an aquarium,

Or tilt my head right off its neck while in a planetarium.

These possibilities bring me some ease as I force down the barium.

(Annual scan Wednesday: CT of Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis.

    Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is my results day....a little nervous, but I am feeling pretty good physically so hopefully that counts for something!

Annie, I am at Sunnybrook in the other side of the city (rival to PMH!) I'm hoping taxol is doing its job for sure!

Ronnie, I will let you know if I need to call in the posse after tomorrow! Lol I really can't believe 2 biopsies later and still no results...I offered to go again, but my MO said to wait for now. I have lots of questions for him for sure!

Bosco great news! So glad to hear it!

Tina ๐Ÿ˜‰ nice poem! Rosevalley love the imagery! You two should work together! Lol

Take care and my best to you all waiting on tests or results!

The doctor just called with the pathology results from my surgery.. I was stage four from the onset, went through eight rounds of chemo before my mastectomy, and showed NEAD on my last pet scan after finishing chemo but pathology showed some scar tissue but cancer in the breast and the lymph nodes.. She said there were clear margins

So I don't know where this leaves me....I'm so confused... What does this mean for the previous positive results from the pet scan? Also my tumor markers started at over 200 and were down to 40 after chemo so it seemed like all signs pointed to the chemo working.. Does this mean the chemo didn't work after all?

LAY-DAYS! Just wanted to say the onc's office phoned this morning and the ct and bone scan I had last Friday came back 'excellent' which was the word used. Then she said ' no evidence of disease.' They never use this term with me before, just say "stable". I am waiting for the reports in the mail to see what terminology it uses. Ah, but at this point it's all semantics to me, in the fifth year dealing with this, I am very happy with these current results.

Bama, I cannot answer your questions. If it were me, I would make a call back to the onc and say, "could you please answer a few more questions regarding these result?" Let them know that you're still a bit confused, ask them to clear some things up and see what your onc has to say. I think that would ease your mind to hear from the onc who has your medical reports.

Getting a CT with yesterday after several years of PET-CTs was so easy and quick I could hardly believe it.

I wish my onc's office would call me with the results of the report, but he told me the last time I waited that they won't and that I should call them.

Why am I so reluctant to do so? I don't think it's that I fear bad news, because for some odd reason I think things are status quo. It's partly because I don't want to be "that patient," the pest. I also want to be in control and to have read the report before I get the news from someone else. Yes, this includes my doctor.

I realize this makes no sense and is nuts, particularly since I won't receive the report from the imaging facility until well into next week, if ever.

I guess I'll call this afternoon.

    Sigh,

    Temporarily Trepidatious Tina
