palpable lymph node

Hello

I was just diagnosed with BC in left breast. Question...anyone else "out there" understand how palpable/positive lymph node contributes to prognosis? Is the fact that my lymph node was palpable make it more likely that it has spread further? My mass in my breast is 1 cm.

I had my palpable lymph node biopsied and came back positive- now it feels very sore, hard and larger than ever.

Sick with worry- chemo starts this week.

    I don't have any answers for you but wanted you to know we are all here for you! I'm sure it's normal for the area to be sore, hard and inflamed after the biopsy. I had surgery first so they didn't biopsy any nodes when they did my initial breast biopsy. The area where they did the breast biopsy was a little swollen and tender and bruised for awhile though. As far as positive nodes for prognosis, I'm not sure if it makes a big difference or not. Everyone is different. The chemo will most likelyzap the tumor and those positive nodes as well! So try to just take one thing at a time. Good luck with the first chemo this week. Keep us posted! HUGS!!!

    I had two tumors in my left breast and one palpable node. After chemo, they did another PET scan and everything was gone. Pathology after surgery confirmed that. I know it's different for everyone, but I feel like I had a good outcome and there is always reason to hope for the best.
