I am scheduled to have surgery to replace my implant for the fourth time. The first one was in 2012, I did that immediately after my mastectomy that one got infected and then the second one rippled. The third one started developing fluid after 1.5 years post surgery so they are replacing it this week. Anyone else have these many problems? I am tempted to say forget it but I am very vain and scared to go flat on one side. Doc has no clue why I am collecting so much fluid. Thoughts anyone

You did not mention how/ where you are accumulating fluid. Usually you need a cavity to collect fluid and that comes down to good surgical technique and not skipping any steps during surgery. So most likely your surgeon will try to eliminate the cavity that is collecting fluid. I have rippling too, it is common when the skin is thin and can also mean too much skin for the size of the implant. I will go back for revision this fall. Some of the complications are expected (cosmetic outcome) but usually surgeons work hard to avoid infection, seromas and hematomas.

I wish you luck with your surgery!

I will be having my 2nd revision end of August due to rippling and other cosmetic issues.  Try sending a PM to SpecialK.  She has had more than her share of various complications and I'm sure will be able to offer better input.  Did you have any lymph nodes removed??
