Vibrating from left chest 9 years later!
Hello all. I had DCIS in 2006--lumpectomy and radiation. I got through everything pretty well, and stayed on these boards for a bit. I eventually had to let it go--I didn't want to think about breast cancer anymore. I felt guilty, but it was how I had to move on. Fast forward 9 years, and I have a vibration, like a cell phone in my pocket, in my chest through my left breast and sometimes even down my arm.
It is intermittent and not palpable and evens stops sometimes. Other times it feels like I'm holding onto an electric fence. I'm in the middle of testing now, and so far the heart exams are normal. They are sending me for a cat scan in a couple of weeks, which is even more radiation, because they thought they felt a lymph node enlarged in my neck too. Needless to say I am freaking out all over again.
In the meantime, I am trying to do a bit of research, which I know can be dangerous. But has anyone had any similar symptoms, and could it be the brachial plexopathy? I don't have pain or lymphedema, so I'm not sure if this would really fit?
Any input or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kris

Kris -- mine feels like a bumblebee
I'm sorry I missed your post -- if you see this -- let's talk -
Kris, I too have this sensation. It started a month or so after LX. It's on and off and hasn't stopped after 5-6 months. I had asked about it in another strand a few months ago, but only one or two others responded that they had it too, but we didn't figure out what it was or how it could be stopped. Let us know how your test results turn out and what is recommended. Thanks and best wishes.

Hello ladies and thanks so much for your replies. I apologize, as no one replied so I hadn't checked the site in a couple of days. I'm still undergoing tests to figure out what's going on, so nothing has been confirmed yet. I guess given the circumstances I would rather have side effects than cancer again. It's such a strange situation to be put in--all of a sudden you have cancer and you have to make decisions and don't even worry about long-term side effects-you just worry about being here long-term. We do the best we can at the time I guess. I recently read an article about a doctor trying to be less aggressive in treating the type of cancer I had. It was very interesting, but given my age and aggressiveness of the tumor, I still would have fallen under the same treatment method.

I am about to go to PT for myositis -- generalized inflammation of the muscle tissue.
There were no tests, but it was diagnosed by a physiatrist.Hmmm...
