Sounds like you had a very detailed and clear conversation and have a good plan in place. Hoping for a good result and limited pain from the surgery.

mqt64 ~ surgery is never fun, but it certainly must be a relief to get to a condition that it can actually occur.  All sorts of good energy and prayers sent to you for an easy surgery and quick recovery.

mqt64 - I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending prayers your way!

I got the job!  Yeah, I think...It will be a challenge to straighten it up but I am up for it.  More excited about work than I have been in a long time.  Thank you for the positive energy, it was a very crowded interview room barely had room for the interview committee with all of you in there cheering me on.  I am a horrible interview but apparently did not do to bad today.

    Hugs

Mdq64, I am praying for Jesus to guide the hands of the surgeon with wisdom and precision. Also to be with all medical personnel involved. Love, Jean

Mqt64.... I just happened on this thread. I too am having my Necrotic

scar tissue removed two weeks from yesterday. I had a biopsy 7 weeks ago and the radiated incision doesn't want to heal over completely. So it's nice to see I'm not alone in this. Hoping he won't make too much of an indentation for me. I just can't look at the imflamation on the skin anymore and I don't like the little drainage that keeps on. Good luck and keep us informed.

WheelyGirl ~ Great news.  It is amazing to feel the positive energy of the Warriors when we fill a room!  Enjoy the new job (that you are already doing Smile)

mqt64 -  I'm sending the most positive energy that I can muster to you tomorrow.

Quiggy ~ How are you doing?

artsee ~ Sending good vibes for a clean bill of health and a good result of the surgery.

I got a surprise phone call that I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow.  He's the one that discovered my recurrence a year ago.  This time we will be discussing the port removal.  (And probably my weight gain. :( )

    Take care all

    Artsee,

Welcome to our wonderful group of sisters. This necrotic tissue stuff is a really big pain! What is yours from? Mine is from a methylene blue debacle. I had to have plastic surgery after my lumpectomy just to remove the skin lesion and they removed some of the necrotic tissue too so they could close the skin so I could have radiation. It's that incision that opened up after radiation and drained. That area had never healed on the inside because of radiation and the remaining necrotic tissue. The rest of my saga is on this thread. If you want more information you can pm me.

I'll be back in touch as soon as I feel up to it.

    Marge

Mqt64....my lumpectomy scar started to change in appearance in April. The pathologist and surgeon didn't like the wat it looked and thought it was a recurrence . biopsy was b-9, but the incision doesn't want to heal from the inside as well. The radiated skin and necrotic tissue is irregular which doesn't lend itself to a clean heal. So I'm praying my surgeon will do his artwork on me so I can get passed this bump in the road. I'm thinking of you......anxious to hear how well you turn out.

Blessings to all the rest of you on here as well.

    hello my Sisters,

I could sure use your input and support.

Had an appointment with my MO (assistant since the doctor is still mia). Yesterday was a bad day.

They found a lump in the other breast and the surgery from two weeks ago on my left breast is not doing well; swelling, hot/red and seroma... painful.

I'm trying really hard to stay positive and strong. Feeling such despair. How much more? I want to get in bed, never leave.

So I'm in the process once again. I have to get the ultrasound then depending on outcome, biopsy and so on. Face the WAITING again.

I don't know where to find the strength to face more poking, prodding and pain not to mention all the invasion into my DH and my life.

My finish line keeps moving. I feel like Charlie Brown and Lucy keeps pulling the football away.

I cried most of the night, staying home from work today because I can't face people and I'm finding that I break into tears randomly and without warning. I know I just need to suck it up and roll with what comes but I'm struggling to find my way to do so.

Quiggy. I think most of us would feel discouraged, angry and frightened by your latest news. You have a right to feel all the emotions that you describe. Just don't crawl into bed and let them so overwhelm you that you cannot take appropriate actions to deal with the situation. The tests will give you more information to decide on next steps so try to see the tests as helpful to you despite the three "p"s.

I don't know where you are being treated or what options are available but you could consider a second opinion or change of doctors/facility.

    Sending hugs and Kleenex

A+AaaaOh Quiggy, my heart hurts for you! All those feelings, all that news would overwhelm most anyone. It's like a merry-go-round that you can't get off. I agree with Wondrwoman. You need to find a new doc if you can. This one seems prettty non-responsive. Meanwhile, cry when you need to and remember that last negative biopsy report.

By way of some good hopeful news, my surgery went well today! He got rid of all the necrotic tissue and I still have a boob left with a nipple and partial areola left, so they tell me. It's got a dressing on so I haven't actually seen that part. And it is closed!! If it happened to me it can happen for you too. Don't know what will happen in the future but my PS is hopeful because of good blood flow to the remaining tissue. Just 6 more weeks of hyperbaric treatments. Second session of summer school!

    Take good care.

    Quite

Quiggy.....read my post on top of yours. I just went through the whole thing in April as well. I know exactly how your insides are reacting right now. The waiting game with every procedure is horrendous as we all know. You will get through this and just remember 80 per cent of all the biopsies are B9.

It's hard...I'm still not back to normal from the scare. We have to hang in there. You had a good DX it looks like the first time around. You will be ok. Just be a adement with the Drs about getting it all done fast.....like yesterday. I would never stand for the waiting of apts etc for a couple of weeks. No way. I had everything done within a week including results.

    Praying for you,

    Art see

Mq264.... How exciting and I'm so happy for you. As you know I'm going in for the same procedure so do keep me posted on what's going on. I only hope by booby won't be a lot smaller and that I will have an incision that will heal good. This draining is for the birds. You can PM me too.

    Hi all,

Had the ultrasound this afternoon. The mass is small and they classed it as benign but want to watch it closely for any changes.

Rollercoaster ride slides back to the bottom again. Thanks for the anxiet!

Now back to focusing on the lack of healing on the surgical side. One nightmare at a time.

FYI, I have to stay with the doctors within my hmo (Kaiser Permanente) as I don't have money to seek help outside the covered plan. I just have to question them andeverything they do.

It all has to end sometime.

mqt64 ~ So very glad that the day went well. I too am amazed that you sound so bright and chipper.  Hooray for having forward momentum. But I think I would go stark raving mad with "just" six more week of hyperbaric treatments. You are amazing.

Quiggy ~ The last message was super good news. You are apparently just lumpy. I'm glad that they moved on it quickly.   For what it is worth, most of us have insurance restriction also.  Part of both the good and the bad of your situation is the size of the organization.  The bad part is that it become like a government bureaucracy which too often is a soulless entity.  But the good part is when the wheels on the truck go round and round good things can get accomplished.  Maybe you have waded through the bureaucratic part and are on the road to recovery.

artsee ~ Wishing good healing to you. It's been a long haul for you if you have been dealing with this since 2008.

I received good news today.  I had a check up with my BS  -the one who found the recurrence lump by feel - he said all is well with me.  I scheduled my port removal for July 31. The delay was my choice because we are having so much company in July. I'm really surprised. Who takes a vacation to Southern Nevada in July? It is 115 degrees out there w/ a constant wind.  We tell 'em Feb & March and they choose July. (It's because the pool is warm and inviting in July.)

Coyotemv, yes it has been a while since DX. Everything was going super which I am extremely happy for. It has just been since April when I noticed the changing lumpectomy scar. I was in AZ for the winter and thought the sun, heat and pool chlorine had irritated it. Turns out it was the dead necrosis tissue that was causing inflammation ....not an infection. So, after a huge scare I want it cleaned up.

It is so refreshing to read everyone's good news on here. Makes me happy, that we again can move on with our lives. BC so consumes us, that we miss the wonderful things that go on in our lives.

Hugs to you all, here's to better days ahead.

Artsee. Good luck with the necrosis. Sounds like you have it on the run.

Coyote So glad you had a good exam and can get the port out. I do think as a New Englander that you have crazy friends but company has its own pleasures (along with extra tasks).

Quiggy. You are a saint to be joyful for others as you continue to struggle. All I can offer is that nurses tell me protein supports healing and exercise like walking pumps a little extra oxygen through the system. Any activity that reduces stress is a benefit. Funny movies or jokes that make you laugh help too. You have had some good news and we hope for more for you.

Mqt64 Best to you and Danny and your father.

Wonderful news quiggy, love when they say the words "just want to watch"...so glad it was benign.

Coyote - glad you are having your port out.  I was glad when I had mine out but that incision bothers me more than anything else, it kiloed (spelling) and is very irritated all of the time now.   My surgeon (whom I trust immensely) said it is because the incision was against the grain so to speak so they some times have a hard time healing.  I will be glad when it gets over itself. lol.

mtq64 - so glad about your seemingly good news.  Hang in there.

I love this amazingly strong group of women, what a horrible thing that has brought us all together but I am so glad you came into my life!

Quiggy, so glad one issue is resolved for the moment so you can concentrate on the other side. What does the surgeon plan to do? If he's not available someone needs to be covering his/her patients beyond an MA. If they know it's infected they should have had sensitivities done so they can prescribe an antibiotic to which the organism is sensitive. God forgive me but maybe hyperbaric treatments would help.

Coyote, so glad your check up is good.

My tablet is not functioning well so will stop here. My dressing comes off tomorrow. ???
