I was wondering if anyone had their tech say

I had an ultrasound done today on a lump in my left breast near my armpit. It was abnormally shaped and she found a few (3-4) other lumps near it as well as a few (3-4) others throughout my breast. At the end when she was leaving she said , "Good luck." I was wondering if anyone else had the tech say that and what the results were.

i wouldn't try to interpret what she meant. It could be the same as "have a good day" but since you were being screened for abnormalities she wished you luck with the outcome. There is no way of knowing so try to keep busy until you hear something concrete.

    Good luck. :)

Agree with Wren. Don't try to read into what she said you will make yourself crazy doing that. I tried to read the tech's faces when they were doing my mammo to see if I had BC. Big mistake. They kept their game faces on and they should have.

Try and keep busy until you know.

thank you. I am just super worried this go around. I had a biopsy on my right breast last month. It was a BI-RADS 4B. It was benign. This one looks so irregular and is very long... Not as wide. Then all the others found around it I didn't expect to see. One has acoustic shadowing. I see the breast specialist I was referred to tomorrow and get results of the ultrasound then. Tomorrow cannot come fast enough. I have been cleaning my house nonstop today and playing with my kids. I'm trying to keep busy.

Waiting is the pits. Time seems to move so slowly when you are anxious. Praying for a good outcome. Let us know.

i got my results. The report has no BI-RADS rating. Is that normal? The report says the mass is bilobed and needs a biopsy for evaluation. I am so worried now. I see my breast specialist today at 2.

I believe there is a separate BIRADS system for US, see link, but it may be that not all imaging centers use it.  I have had a zillion US and never saw a BIRADS attached to the reports.  You have to scroll a ways down this link before you get to the info.
