Has anyone experienced numbness/tingling in arms and hands, plus shoulder and neck pain following reconstruction? My reconstruction was at the end of December and I have been having these symptoms for at least a month or so. I have a silicone implant on my right side and had a mastopexy (lift) on my left. I did not increase size and am actually a bit smaller than before bc.

I've had numbness and tingling in both my hands but it turned out to be carpal tunnel. Is one finger more bothersome than the others?

inks, I too have just been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. It started after my ovaries were removed in December. Got worse even with PT. can't sleeping OTC ibuprofen hasn't worked. Finally sent me to neurologist and now they recommend surgery.

    When did your symptoms start?

    Curious

babsaboo62- I had the same symptoms and addressed it with my breast surgeon. She ordered physical therapy. I was a skeptic at first, but no more. I did the exercises as prescribed and within a week, the pain and numbness were gone. My breast surgeon and physical therapist seemed to think that it was related to all of the muscular issues after my bilateral mastectomy.

chimuela - mine also got worse after oophorectomy and exemestane. But I had a little trouble before, it was worst a week before the birth of my last child. So it could be related to hormones in my case.

I, too, think it is totally related. I have never had carpal tunnel symptoms. Then aftEr ovaries removed hot flashes, joint aches and hands were the worst. I did some exploring and found many people with CTS after their hormone levels changed. Passed this on to my primary care doctor and she said there is no research and could recommend physical therapy. I have taken it upon myself to try over the counter Estroven. I am feeling improvement. Anyone else out there with a similar are experience?
