Great time last night. Here's another:

Nature hasn’t blended your mind so completely with your body, as to deny
you the power of limiting yourself and bringing under control everything that
you are. Always bear that in mind and,
with it, remember how little is needed to live a happy life. Just because you’ve given up on becoming a
great logician or a student of physics, don’t despair of being free, modest,
unselfish, and obedient to the will of God.
It’s quite possible to become a great sage and yet never be
recognized. -Marcus Aurelius -
You are all looking so good. Thrilled that many of you were able to get together. There is no substitute for getting together with people who became old friends the minute they joined this blog. For some --- that was sure a long time ago. There are a couple of faces I don't recognize --- but even then, it is the face of a friend.
Pouring down here. I'm late with the quote today as I needed to go to work early and stay later. Off tomorrow though. We have a bit more rain ( where is it all coming from, I wonder ) but hopefully will dry out for a couple of days soon.
Hope you are all safe and sound and still enjoying the glow from your get -together.
Blessings,
Jackie

It's a little humid in Chicago, but I've got a nice lake breeze and the windows open. Good because my daughter and I are stripping woodwork and preparing walls for painting. It was a task I was planning to do when I was diagnosed with BC. Finally getting to it.
My hand is healing from trigger thumb release surgery. Four weeks out. I was wondering if I have a touch of infection. But now see it could be inflamation from internal stitches. My body has always fought these stitches. I've got one working it's way out. Tried pulling it out, but it's not coming. I'm such a whimp I wasn't going to push it. Oh well. I've got one more visit to the hand doc if it doesn't work it's way out.
-
Hi Doxie,
So glad to see a post from you. I am a wimp, too and there is no way that I could have pulled out that stitch! It's pretty humid here, too. I finally put on the air conditioner and it is starting to cool down some.
My youngest grandson willl be staying with me this week. He should be arriving shortly. His mom and him are flying in tonight and then she is renting a car and going to drive to Chicago for some work issues. I am looking forward to spoiling that young man while he is here but by the tie the week is over, I will probably really be dragging! Hoping for some days without rain so we can go to the pool and do some outdoor activities.

If it can be verified, we don't need faith. . . . Faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason. Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities and sudden, startling joys.

Any ladies finished and had a choice of radiation or breast removal which one are you doing and why ?
-
L00Sparrow,
It can be a hard choice for some of us. I had no problem deciding. I opted for a lumptectomy, but had to lose my nipple, so it was called a partial mastectomy. I'm small, post meno and high chested. I didn't want an implant that accentuated that. Lucky too because I seem to be allergic to silicone.
Of course with an LX I had radiation. No real problems with it.
-
I had lumpectomy. My Dr. said that tx. was virtually the same whether you chose lumpectomy or mastectomy. I opted for the lumpectomy. That way I didn't have the longer recovery time and no disturbance of muscle and tendons or chest tissue other then the sm. amt. from the lumpectomy. Consequently -- though I filled a pain meds prescription, I found that I didn't need to take any. It was more on the order of annoyance to me rather than actual pain. All are different though.

I am going through the questions of removal of breast vs radiation which is something I've had in past that did a lot of damage in future I do not know what is ahead but I thank you ladies for sharing your stories with me everything counts as I need the support .Thank you!

“With awareness there comes choice. And so you are able to say: "I allow this moment to be as it is". And then, suddenly, where before there was irritation, there is now a sense of aliveness and peace. And out of that comes right action.”
Eckhart Tolle

Did lumpectomy but then they found more tumors on both sides so had BMX. No rads or chemo.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for those who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. "

More rain---my birdbaths are overflowing. I don't think I have had to hand fill them but once oir twice because of the rain this year..... PT told me I could go bowl with a six lb kids ball to see if I could do it with my wrist.
I bowled three games, a 115, 162 and 127. Only two gutter balls. The 162 is way above my average.....YIPPEE, abut I am not purchasing a six lb ball. I am hoping he will let me try the 8 lb ball next time....
Hope all is well with everyone. OUr relay for life is this Friday.
