Hello all,

Thank you for being so brave and generous with sharing your stories here.  They have been a big help to me starting this journey.

I will know more after the surgery on Thursday and I guess I am prepared for the initial DX to change.

Hi Marta! Not sure when you will see this but hopefully surgery went well and you're on the road to recovery. Be good to yourself, rest well and ask for whatever help you need...

    Hi vlnrph and Maureen1,

Things went well.  Very little post op pain.  See surgeon Thursday for follow up.  I did not get the all of the good news I was hoping for but not too bad.

The tumor was 1.3 cm so smaller than they thought but one of the nodes that came with the breast tissue was involved and the sentinel node had some tumor cells in it.  (During surgery the pathology of sentinel was negative but I was told this could change after freezing and staining-and it did).

The BMX itself was not as hard as I thought it would be and was happy to only have to stay overnight in the hospital.  The next couple of weeks will let me know more.

Thanks for updating us...So glad to hear your surgery went well:) I know its tough to find out you had positive nodes, I had 3 involved nodes. I like the way my surgeon described it even if she was only saying it to make me feel better... She said those nodes did their job, they caught the BC when it tried to escape! I hope your recovery continues to go well.... (((Hugs))) Maure
