My mom....

hello! I've been looking at your board for the last week and I decided to make an account and join in. My mom was diagnosed 4 years ago with BC, had a double mastectomy , chemo, and is now on Exemestane & Arimax. A couple weeks ago she started expericing pelvic pain by her scar for her reconstruction (under belly button). She got an ultrasound, showed nothing in the cervix/ovaries. Well, the next day she got her labs back and her calcium levels were at 10.9. Tuesday is her body scan and I am terrified. Please give me any words of encouragement you can. Any one with bone mets in pelvis experience throbbing pain near a scar? Onc seems to think the high calcium levels and pelvic pain aren't related.

Hi Lolo, Welcome and glad you have found us. This is a good place ask your questions and find support. I don't have any experience with what you have asked. I do have experience with thinking all my symptoms are related to my prior cancer. It's a nature response, sort of like post traumatic stress. So far none of mine have been related and there is a very good chance hers isn't. There are many things it could be. Just take it one step at a time. Hopefully others may chime in soon. If not, try posting something the title as your real question "Anyone with bone mets in pelvis have pain near scar?" It might help you get the responses you are looking for. Your mother is lucky to have you supporting her and searching for answers. Hugs to you and your mom.

Hi Lolo, Welcome to the BCO community. We are so sorry to hear about your mom but glad that you reached out. As gypsyjo points out it is common to worry about new symptoms after a breast cancer diagnosis whether you are the person with cancer or the caregiver. Please stay connected here and keep us posted on your mom's scan results. Sending you positive and hope filled thoughts. The Mods
