hey everyone. I'm looking to see how many 5+ years survivors are out there. How are you feeling? Does anyone still struggle with the fear of cancer coming back? I'm coming up to my 5 year cancerversary and I'm very afraid. I am brca 2 unspecified variant. I had a double mx and had ovaries removed about a year ago. I'm 38 and am trying to decide if I should have a baby. More like a surrogate. There is no cancer in my family, or at least in any immediate family. Just want to see if there are anyone else out there ned and moving on. Thanks

I am a 10 year TNBC survivor! I am 52. And yes, also BRCA2. I had a double mastectomy and had my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. I had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation after diagnosis in 2005 but after getting genetic testing, discovered brca2 positive so I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I have never regretted that decision. I hope you are doing well. It never leaves your mind, but it definitely enters it less as time goes on. I am here for you if you need to vent!

my mother is a brca2+ triple negative 2x survivor 10 years out from the last occurrence. She's in her 70s and very healthy. She had hysterectomy at 46 due to other concerns, lumpectomy on left side and mastectomy on right with 2nd separate occurrence 3 years later. My grandmother was brca2+ and died of unrelated causes. Hope this helps!
