Trip to see Vinnie

Did anyone submit their tattoo bill to insurance? What code was used to submit?
I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.
Thanks! -
I did. I have BCBS too. So far they haven't paid for it. Ugh.
-
Lorbgoo,
How long ago did you have tats done?
-
pink I had them done in January and then retouched on May 1st.
-
Lorbgoo,
So is your tats claim still pending with BCBS? -
well they denied it and I sent just sent it again with another form to dispute it. Ugh. The girl path at did my tat says they are covered by insurance. I'm hoping they pay but it doesn't look good. Did you get yours done yet
-
I get mine done this summer. May call first to ask if covered.
-
I just got my "vinnies" and couldn't be happier. He supplied an EOB with all insurance codes needed (pm me if you would like these codes...). It was $800 for both. I have United Healthcare, and am not too optimistic...
-
YAY, Piano-girl! I'm doing the happy dance for you tonight!
-
Make sure they have the right codes. I have BCBS of IL and they did not accept the codes that Vinnie assistant gave me. I finally got the right codes and called his shop but they were too busy to resend me the sheet with correct codes. So I was out $600 because they couldn't take the time to send me an updated sheet. So be careful of that. I told him they wouldn't accept it and they said they never had a problem. But for me BCBS of IL would not accept it. That was two years ago so maybe they have changed them.

A very nice article about Vinnie that will appear in the June 2015 edition of ELLE magazine:

I'm scheduled to have my first fat graft next week to fill in the hollow area above the implant (I'm a uni). I'd like to start thinking about scheduling my Vinnie trip, but don't know if I have to wait to see if more fat grafting will be needed, or if I can get the tattoo without worrying about needing more fat grafting.
Does anyone know?
-
If you call Vinnie's shop, Richie will be able to answer any questions you may have and willtell you when would be the optimal time for you to get your tattoo. Good luck! You are in good hands with all the men there - Vinnie, Paul, and Trent!
-
I live 15 minutes from Vinne's shop. If anyone needs a free place to stay, look me up! We are currently empty nesters, and my surgery was and treatments, with be done at the local cancer center in Westminster ...

Just got back from seeing Vinnie at the NOLA facility- wonderful job! Very happy with the results and although I wouldn't classify getting a tattoo as 'fun' it was definitely a piece of cake compared to everything else I've gone through! Amazing how the tattoos really make you feel and look complete again! Happy tattooing to you all!
-
mistyb - I'm so happy for you! I felt the same way following my tattoo. While the sound of the tattooing grated, the sensation was minimal. Now we can feel real again - or at least that is how I feel. Hugs
-
I just wanted to give a shout out for Paul Bessette, with the Vinnie Myers Team...I had my single tattoo done on Friday 7/10/15, and I LOVE IT...As I take a quick glance, I would think the nipple was actually real...I couldn't have asked for a more caring and attentive person doing my tattoo...I would highly recommend him for anybody needing their tattooing services...I opted out of doing the nipple reconstruction, as I've had enough surgeries with this reconstruction process...

I just wanted to take a minute today to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to VINNIE! (It's in his BCO bio...) Because of him and his talents, hundreds of us have discovered the joy of 3D tattoos. and that sense of 'completion' that they bring. I'd also like to thank Vinnie, Paul, and Trent for the very important work that the three of them continue to do. Between them, they've made many women very happy!
-
AZ you are so right! We are blessed that they share their talents with us
-
Hi,
Does anyone know how long after getting 3D tats before I can take a shower or swim in the ocean? -
10-14 days for a pool. I was told put vasoline on tatt and face away from shower stream so I took shower right away.
-
I was told not to scrub but could shower the next morning. No pools for two weeks
-
I am looking into nipple tats. Do u know if chlorine will fade them eventually? I swim a few times a week. Thanks
-
Newgirls - I think the difference between 3D tatttoos by Vinnie, (or either of his associates, Trent and Paul) and those done at a plastic surgeon's office, comes down to two things - the type of ink and the expertise of the tattooist. Vinnie and his band of merry men use high grade tattoo ink, while most medical offices use vegetable based inks. It's not unusual for some tattoo practitioners to require several applications to complete a set of tattoos; while Vinnie and the boys are pretty much a one and done guys. That is not to say, that if for any reason in the future, you might need a touch up, they're very accomodating..

Whichever way you decide to go, I highly recommend that you do your homework. It's a big decision, but so worth it in the end!
On the picture forum, find MereMere's thread on the first page and go to page 25. Grammakathy's thread and mine have both dropped to the second page, but her results are on pages 2 and 3 of her thread, and my 'before and afters' are on page 56 of my thread. Three stellar examples of Vinnie's work. Good luck to you!
-
I am not sure about the differences in ink used, but I have had my Vinnie touched up once, about a year after the original; and he mentioned I might even have to come in again. Maybe it is just me because we are all so different, but just wanted you all to know that it is possible, tattoo canfade. All in all still quite happy with results.
-
I had mine done over a year ago in my PS office by a micropigmentation specialist (Tattoo artist) and they have not faded at all.
-
HI, I am travelling from Toronto to see Vinnie in MD at the end of Sept. Any recommendations of where to stay or what to see while there?
I am a Uni and have very light pigment, has anyone had the natural nip tattooed as well? This is what I will be having so it won't fade away.
It is reassuring that everyone is so happy with the results!

Hi! I've posted this before but just wanted to ask again.. Does anyone know if Vinnie travels out of the USA for tattoo tours? I tried sending him an email but there was no response. Is there someone here who knows of the above? Please help me out! Thanks!
-
Going to see Vinnie in Finksburg from DC. Is it ok to plan to drive up and back? My sister wants to be my support person, but for various medical reasons won't be able to drive.
