Just diagnosed with ILC, ER+, PR+, HER2-. Had a mammogram, ultrasound and biposy last week. MRI was done yesterday and showed 10+ positive nodes. I have mastectomy scheduled for Monday and I'm sure that will be followed by chemo. I have 4 kids and am scared to death. I would so appreciate it if anyone had anything positive to say to me. I feel like the walking dead.

No answers, no great knowledge to offer. (Notice my pen name!).Read, study. Get opinions. Assert yourself, because you are worth it. Then Remember...You have a rough road ahead but you will be walking it with support.

    Hi papaska4,

I can totally relate to what you must be feeling. I was just diagnosed on May 26th with ILC. I go for my yearly mammogram every May and this time I found a lump in my left breast. They found two more and had the biopsy done, then MRI that showed something suspicious on my right breast. So I've met with the general surgeon a couple times and decided on a bilateral mastectomy. Just met with the plastic surgeon this past Monday. Planning on reconstruction surgery (expanders) and they are telling me most likely chemo and hormonal therapy. I won't know the stage until after the surgery, which I am still waiting on the doctors to get it scheduled. The waiting is brutal!

I know we have a rough road ahead of us. I keep telling myself to suck it up, the cancer can take my breasts, not my life!!! This to shall pass! Still all that said, it's not easy. It has been an emotional roller coaster for me. It does help having my twins home from school. I can normally keep it together with them around. Early mornings or late at night is when I may break down. They say you need to. It's good to cry, but then you have to pick yourself up and keep that positive attitude. Positive thinking!

Well I wish you all the best and I will keep you in my prayers, papaska4. You are not alone! Keep the faith! Fight Like A Girl!!

    Hi

I am 42 with 4 kids and just diagnosed with ILC left breast and DC (hopefully IS) Right breast. I had a wide local excision (lumpectomy) and sentinal nodes taken in an operation on the 9th June and will get results next Wednesday. I know it is oestrogen, progesterone postive, HER2 was still pending. I had the operation finish Tuesday 10:30pm and I am back to work and on this rubbish journey as well. Let me know how you go. I have had CT scans, bone scans, lots of mammograms and ultrasounds. I have a 5.5cm cyst on my ovary they are investigating further due to me having bilateral breast cancer but I am hoping as it appears benign it will be.

    Regards
