PET Scan Tommorow...So Nervous

I'm scheduled for a PET scan tomorrow and then we meet with the oncologist later in the day.

This test terrifies me...not the actual taking it but what the results could reveal. I know we need the results but I'll be a nervous wreck tomorrow.

Then I go on Thursday for port placement. Heck...that doesn't make me nearly as nervous.

    been there I know what your going through had my port put in and a pet scan done the same day! Talk about a bad day not sure if your religious but praying really helped that period between whenthey inject the sugar and having to wait for the scan is Very scary the scan itself like you said was not bad basically you just lay there. I had results the next day!

    they will take good care of you during the scan. There will be a period if time where you just have to rest for 45 minutes or so in a quiet, probably darkened room so the sugars in the injection can travel where they need to go in your body.

    I was very nervous as well, not so much about the test itself, but what results might be. Try to find your center. It's not easy. Breathe and talk to the scan techs. Let them know you are nervous. I think holding it in always makes it worse.
