Has anyone asked for more chemo?

Options

I am on my 6th round of chemo out of 8. It is going as well as possible. Very few side effects. I am doing dose dense ACT.

I worry about relapse especially given that i am under 40, grade 3, multifocal, LVI and high oncotype score.

Has anyone requested more chemo? Is there any point? I am wonder if a couple more rounds of a different protocol would help.

My oncologist laughed when I asked and said she wouldnt discuss this until the end. Maybe my last few rounds will be more difficult?

I just want to feel I did everything possible to prevent spread. My tumors grew so quickly, so I never had to be told it was aggressive. I knew. I just wonder if the existing length of protocols take into account people like me.

Yes, I did. I asked my onc for more of the 'red' drug (Adriamycin) back in 1999. However, I was not aware of the more serious SA's associated with that drug.. That said, I had the usual SA's but nothing more.

I realise there are different drug regimens now but all I thought about then was killing my cancer. I think it worked!!

I did. They lowered my taxol dose because I was having neuropathy and I asked if I could get the amount they shorted me in the end but no luck. Later I found out that taxol is not all that great for BRCA mutated cancer. I'm under 40, multifocal+multicentric, grade III, LVI as well. People who do neoadjuvant and the tumor does not respond well have gotten some more chemo after surgery.
