Thank you Arlene!! Things are looking up. Drain has been removed and fills have been restarted on a fast track pace. Prayers to you as you complete your chemo!!!!
Has anyone joined a local chapter of breast cancer support groups. There is one here on Staten Island that I have joined at University Hospital. It not only gives you the support of other ‘boobie‘ sisters, they have informative guest speakers. Meeting is once a month.

Got my revision surgery scheduled for June 1st. My TE is too high up, and we had to wait until I'm done with chemo before I go under the knife
-
Good luck BBwithBC45.Hope all goes well with your revision!!
-
Good Luck, BB!
My last chemo in 2 days...whew. Those cells had better be GONE!
My recon is scheduled for July 7. Left implant and right reduction/lift. Yikes! Hoping I can have some summer.
I hope everyone is feeling good!

bb - good luck in the revision. I hope you will love the new "girls"!!
greenae - yay...you're closing that chapter and starting a new one. I'll listen for the bells tomorrow for the last chemo!!!
-
Yay! Chemo DONE!
Decadron wacky tonight, feeling emotional, and can't sleep. Thank you all for the support and encouragement. My tumor margin had a spot of IDC that was <1mm, so at my recon in July, my BS will be scraping that out, to avoid rads.
Can't wait (NOT!). Why must breasts do this to us!? I will end up with nipples with no sensation, 1 implant and a redux/lift on the right. I just want to know if life will ever get back to "normal?"
So, I am trying to just stay at one step at a time...and today that is the relief that chemo is done...3 more weeks of SEs...and OVER!
Wanna be a SURVIVOR, and the same for all of you! Praying all surgeries and revisons go smoothly...sending hugs!
A couple of pics of my sis, Onco RN, Anne (THE BEST!), and me at the FINAL INFUSION!
Love, a very tired
arlene (sheesh, my pics are all over the place?!)

Congratulations Arlene!!!
-
Ladies, thank you for the good luck wishes. They called me yesterday from the hospital from pre-surgery and they had me down for revision of the right breast. Bad mistake - it is my left breast, or I should say left TE revision.
Arlene - congratulations on graduating from chemo. You look great.
-
Thank you, BB and Just a Jen!
Jeeze, BB...I hope they get RIGHT FROM LEFT STRAIGHT!! We have to be vigilant advocates for ourselves!
-
greenae - CONGRATULATIONS!! Great news on possibly no rads also. Rest now and revel the successful chemo completion. You look fabulous!! -
Thank you, MJH1!!
-
congratulations Greenae! And yes, you look fabulous!
-
Thank you Audrey, I hope you are feeling good!
Hugs!

BB, before they put you under make sure they say out loud which breast they are doing. I always insist on the surgeon.saying aloud what procedure they are doing. They may not like it but that's just too bad. I've also read of patients actually writing on themselves with a marker where the surgery is to be done! Be safe and hope all goes well. Love, Jean
-
When I had my SNB BS signed her initials on my left breast.
-
Yes, Legit hospitals and surgeons always mark the pt before surgery while the pt is alert, if possible, i.e. elective, not emergency sx with an unconscious pt.
-
Congrats, Arlene!!!!
The loss of nipple sensation does suck but it could be worse. I look down and I'm grateful to see MY nipples and skin with freckles.
That blonde on you looks amazing!
-
Thank you, Jilly. I shouldn't have been whiney about the nipples. I am Happy to Be Here!!!
Hugs!
Arlene

Robin! Where you been girl????
-
Arlene -
I hear you about the beach. DH and I just returned from Sanibel. I was concerned because I did have post-op dehiscence that did not want to heal. With blessings from your PS, you can order Tegaderm from Amazon - it's a clear, waterproof dressing.
Keep us posted in July!!!! I will be having a revision in the fall.
-
Arlene you look fantastic!!! God Bless!!!
