1 DIEP Breast and 1 implant Breast - anyone have this

I was wondering if anyone could give me a little info. I have waited 3 1/2 years patiently to get the okay for recon and they finally said yes    yay!!!!

I have to lose a few pounds first and am working on that now.

I am so looking forward to this I had a double mastectomy so I have been flat for some time now. I am starting to forget what having breasts was like.

My questions are do they look different because ones diep and ones a implant like silicone etc..

If I lost weight would diep one get smaller and other stay bigger

I was also wondering if I will have cleavage.- can you sorta squish breasts together and get natural cleavage look.or do they stay in same place and not move. I know these may sound odd questions but I really have no idea what they are like.

is the nipple made from skin on your back- how long do you wait to get them when you are getting one of each

any other info anyone can think of would be appreciated

    I'm curious as to why you're getting one diep and one implant. 

    I have 2 diep breasts and very nice clevage. They are soft, warm and natural feeling.  I'm having my stage 2 surgery on Wednesday. I don't have nipples yet, but my PS described the procedure as origami.  He gathers the tissue in the center, cuts and shapes it, then stitches it together. I think there are also other ways to do this.

     I'm told the diep breast can gain and lose weight.

    thanks for the reply- I don't know why one of each that's just what the surgeon suggested I will have to ask more about it as it is not set in stone yet. I was just so excited that I was given the okay to get boobs I did not think about much else they made me wait along time because something to do amount and where cancer was maybe or my chemo or radiation or surgery that has something to do with it.

    They sound almost natural with your description of warmth and cleavage. The weight gain and loss is interesting I thought it might be that way.

    I have one of each, I did not have enough stomach for two, the results are not bad you cannot tell the difference in clothes. It took awhile for things two soften up but I do have pretty normal cleavage.

    The DIEP side is more natural looking and feeling. The implant ( silicone) side is soft and a little smaller. If you lose or gain more than fifteen pounds the DIEP side will lose or gain and the implant might only change a little if any. I had nipple's done, the surgeon pulled and twisted the skin on the front to make a nipple and then I had three dimensional tattoo's. Not sure if if would had the nipples made again because the tattoo did not cover the scars all the way I think I would have just had the tattoos. Maybe if I had, bigger nipples the scars would not have showed.( they are in proportion to my breast)

    Thanks so much for your reply Gale1525. I was hoping that it is as you said that they look similar in clothing. I guess I know they wont be the same as I had but I think we are all shooting for at least looking and feeling somewhat normal. I never put much thought toward the tattoo part I suppose I should check into that too.

    Sounds like the DIEP breast would be nice if I could get both with that method. As it sounds like they look and feel the most normal to most people. I will have to ask my doctor about it.
