Breast Clinic that gives you mammogram results the same day?
Hi,
I live in the Boston area and I am high risk for BC. Could you please share with me the name of a breast clinic/hospital where I can schedule my mammograms and wait for results right after? I am dealing with a lot of anxiety and I cannot bear to be do my mammograms, be called a week later (possibly to be asked to do more images--always happens), then wait another week to have the images read, etc.
Thank you.

You usually only get immediate results on a diagnostic mammogram, not a screening one. Are you being sent for a diagnostic mammo? What makes you high risk

I get mine the same day at Newton Wellesley Hospital. I am also at high risk due to ADH. You can send me a private message if you want.

Thank you for the replies. I'm High Risk for "severe ADH" (twice so far, 6 years apart) and I used to be at NWH and LOVED getting results immediately. Also liked the radiologists very much there--which is important for biopsies, etc. But my dr. has moved to a different hospital where they do not give you same-day results. Can I ask if you have a breast surgeon you love at NWH? Mine was good, but not interested in doing follow up, so I have been looking for another breast clinic. Thanks.

Melissa is exactly right. My sister and I are high risk because our Mom had BC. We both have digital ones now. I know the results before I leave his office. Couldn't handle waiting.

One caution about requesting diagnostic rather than screening mammograms, it doesn't count for your "free" mammogram & your insurance may not pay for it if they don't think it is indicated

I get annual diagnostic mammo at Faulkner hospital as my BS scheduled. I do have a bill for around $100 after insurance pays part but I got the results after just several minutes waiting.

I had my breast augmentation surgery a year back in a Dr. Sammy Silwin's cosmetic breast surgery clinic at Sarnia. Initially we do feel anxiety then it is healed along with time. First I would recommend you to consult a good surgeon and go ahead for the cosmetic procedure.

I go to MGH for my mammograms, and get the results before I leave, but am always scheduled as diagnostic (not screening) due to my history. There are some wonderful breast surgeons there. Happy to give recs if you want to PM me
