When my MO said I would loose my hair, I laughed and said I'd get Spookie cut down and have a wig made from hers so we'd match. He didn't get it.
She is my avatar.
-
I think you should at least get a wig that looks her even if it's not made from her hair!
-
Blondie- fingers crossed on going to Florida. You deserve to go enjoy yourself somewhere! There are some crazy FL women around here that I bet would visit you too....
-
Blondie, we mean it. Sas and I will drive to see you. Chevy didn't believe us either, we met, had a great time. What part of Florida?
Tell her Chevy. We want to meet her!!!
-
Yes. yes, Blondie we will come see you. Maybe not Miami---it's crazy.
Rosie and Spookie and all that I missed Thanks about DS. Yeah, I'm over the top proud. It is unusual for a lawyer his age to have accomplished what he has so far. The difference is size of law firm. In bigger firms there is so much of what he's been able to do wouldn't be assigned to an associate. To do appellate cases would have gone to some one with years more experience. The trade off is money. Grunts in bigger firms(100+ lawyers) make huge amounts of money. But he is VERY happy to have the ability to Do Stuff other than grunt work. Too many of his friends took the money, not realizing all the years it would take till they got to do what he's been allowed. To see him having so much fun at what he is doing is just the best part of it.
Marley my twin was a Detroit cop and retired in 1998 at sargent level---two weeks before our 48th birthday----great retirement pension. She got BC at 46 y/o, worked through all of chemo, but didn't retire on disability, she stayed the full time-God Bless her. Her cop stories kept us in stitches for years. Her last assignment was in notification and control. LOL, when you said about telling cops what to do. Not sure if N&C is the same language department to department. She used to describe her last department job as deciding if the commissioner and mayor needed to be woken up etc. and that if anyone in a _____(station) needed advice as to how to proceed. Nice place to spend her last few years on the department. Way better than the street. So often she would put her self in harms way to make sure her baby cops wouldn't get hurt or do the wrong thing when they were in unfamiliar action stuff. They thought she was great. Her rationale was to avoid all the report writing if they got hurt. They learned by example, she avoided the writing. .......... Love Belgian Malinois.....have considered the Belgian Tervern(sic?) sister breed.
Rosie glad you enjoyed Sandy and Lizzy clip. Since you looked at others too... I think you can see why I thought they were special......Who knew dogs could do ballet?
DBF home BBL or tommorrow

Talking about dogs tearing stuff up. There is some sort of creature in the back. It's either from the next yard(disaster yard) or it's in /under the shed. The dogs--Dini & Shatzi---tore off several pieces of the shed trying to get to whatever it is.....were going to set a trap. I think it's a rat.
-
Sassy- your son is a mover and a shaker.

Lol cape coral

Lawsy me you ladies have been busy! And so have I. It never rains but it pours as I always say. Today I had a lunch date with one of the wonderful ladies who drove me to rads, and shortly before I left, our big dog started throwing up. Like, a lot. I was on the verge of canceling my lunch, but called DH and the vet first. DH said he'd head home after his meeting, vet said they would want us to leave the dog for a few hours at least. Cousin said go, so I went, had a good lunch, middle of lunch cousin calls to say dog is throwing up blood, she's taking him in. Later we talked to the vet, dog has some kind of stomach bug and they're keeping him overnight. I'm resigned to losing him. Vet made it sound serious. Lying here in bed and now Rose's tummy is churning. Is she next? Not ready.
Big dog's name is Nacho.

P.S. Sassy, trying to find a time to call you!
-
sas-schatzi -- we use a different term but pretty much have a bureau with a similar job. We are a MUCH smaller agency than Detroit with roughly 10% of their size. I started my career in 1994 and the world has changed a lot since then so our officers take reports on everything and record every conversation with the public, basically as a CYA! Thought about the Tervuren but they have way too much hair. My half-breed has a prey-drive that is unbelievable. He sat in front of gopher hole for an hour waiting for it to pop up and nailed it when I finally came up!
So now not only has my list of questions for my MO has grown but also my list of things to bring to my treatment has expanded to include crushed ice/popsicles. I hate being cold so cold caps/gloves/booties are not a possibility for me but I think I can stand my mouth being cold.
-
magdalene51 -- sorry to hear about Nacho. I was just reading that there's a pretty serious canine flu going around.
-
Jazzy--very nice thought --thanks--time will tell. He's ethical -Yay. In Florida the first exam before being allowed to sit for the Bar exam is the ethics test. They're is two levels--ethical for Florida--and the national level. He passed for all 50. It's the same for all states----state level and national. Then word was expected about the Bar exam. I was in the Port Canaveral waiting area to get on a boat. Worried why I hadn't heard. I finally called. His words " Mom when you are waiting for an important phone call, please, remember to turn your phone on" His tone was familiar in Jack Benny's delivery. He had passed. Wonderful memory. This is a benchmark moment as each of those were. He get's crazy just a bit when I credit his success to Science Research in school. In our county, it's a big deal. Taken very seriously. Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force base(Delta & Atlas). Lot's of involved parents. What each kid in a science fair has to do is present the project AND answer questions re: the project. From second grade on to the twelth, he progressively learned cooperative effort, how to think, research, write, present, and defend. The bottom line, those early days have translated nicely. An Appellate Judge would seem formidable.......so's a Science Research judge. Bless his teachers
In memory of Dr. Billy Bowen, science teacher for his guidance and encouragement over his career of 45 years to the students of our county who passed away this week. Thanks Billy, Bless you.

Mags---long post wiped out in a very odd way that I haven't seen before..........Keep us in the loop. Keep the dogs food, but don't let them eat any. Even if the vet thinks it's okay. Long story. Get new food different brand for the time being.
-

Chatty lot, aren't we ? Going back to try to reread, slow down... This part I think I caught.
Chevster & Lucy are having a cocktail.
-
oh wait,
They made one for Sas.....

-
It's 11:44 and I am wide awake... ok insomiacs.. where are you? I have listened to all the Cat Stevens on my Ipod, read everything on the internet on his bio... remembered him singing in concert when I was a kid. Rocking down memory lane.
Mags- Sass is right. There have been some nasty food additives that have killed dogs and cats. It might have been a bad batch of food. I buy only US made, no corn or grain pet food. my fav is the salmon/sweet potato, lots of fatty acids and my dogs coats are gorgeous. Good for allergies. We almost lost our little terrier to HGE (hemorraghic Gastroenteritis), which has nothing to do with food. She just passed out, puked everything, diarrhea- then came the bloody diarrhea. I never thought such a small animal could lose so much fluid and blood and live. We got her to an emergency vet and she made it! No one thought she would. She was in puppy ICU no joke, she was so sick they charged me 28$ for giving report between shifts. I guess HGE is a reaction to bacteria and it just snowballs. I hope your pup is ok and pulls through.
Blondie sure does sound excited about FLorida. It's great her DS is taking her and I surely do hope Spookie and Sassy hook up. I hope she gets to go and soak up sun, sand and heat! May her MO give her a boarding pass! Be well ya'll.

HI1----I wish ---the glass is right. Just wish the liquid inside was....White Russians, Pink Squirrels, Grasshoppers.......I tried to order them not long ago and I was looked at like I was an alien. But it does bring back the memory that my first head nurse taught me---order a drink that the bartender doesn't know and it can keep you from getting carded. My drink of choice in that time was a Scarlett O'Hara---cranberry juice and Southern Comfort. Tried it sometime ago-----way to sweet. Couldn't figure out how I could have ever drank it----Oh yeah, I was underage.Oh krips, I just finished Letterman and now it's 4:14 am-------Oh well, see you late or on Thursday.
-
Sass.. When I was young I used to be a Blue Lagoon Cocktail girl.. HaHa.. By the end of the night out my teeth would be blue.!!! ... not a good look :-)

-
Hey gals! What's up? I see you ALL have been up since I was last here...? Raising hell and partying all night? Thought so!
Rosie, Oh wait... we can't go scarin' off anymore potential partyers... No, how do you spell partiers? Spell check is not helping on this one... But now we are all friends and we are SAFE with that what'sherNAME who will report or maybe even arrest us if we are un-controllable... I just KNEW she was in law-enforcement...
She will keep the bad guys away..... unless we want them.... And she has those TWO DOGS! Isn't it amazing how you can look in any dogs eyes and just see how much love they have for you?
Loverly, I just LOVE that little dog on the pillow! So funny....! I guess unless it was YOUR pillow....
I never COULD figure out what that thing was you posted... Shorts with sleeves?
Hi Lucy... You are in Brisbane? Like I know where that is.... I love the ocean too! My folks moved to the San Francisco area when I met my DH... And visiting them was like seeing all the beautiful things I had never seen before... The ocean, Yosemite, Fisherman's Wharf... Golden Gate Park, and this was when the hippies had taken over down-town... Ha! They drove by that area one time, just to show me... And Mom was scared to death of their flowers, and free-love, etc!
I thoroughly enjoyed all that.... Haaaaaaaaaaaahah!
Morning Jazzy... oh never mind.... we went through all this... about the death-stars....
Wren! Good idea for Marlana... Is SHE the authorative figure we have now? About a dog-walker?
Oh so SASS changed her name? Marley? Will she know it when she sees it?
Okay, so now Marley.... See, these gals, especially Cammi, whoisneverhere said I broke my hip falling off the pole in the alley... I merely stumbled over a rock the size of a small Volkswagon, and fell smack-dab on my hip... I mean as old as I am I could have KILLED myself! But it is all fixed up now... I like to show all the men my scars on my hip and leg.. something to talk about you know!
I LOVE your dogs... I'll never remember their names, but they are beautiful... So you keep those guys under your command? Hah! That's perfect! I've probably heard you dispatching orders on those cop shows... Right? I watch that, and the jail bookings, and etc.! See? You DO those kind of things for lack of anything else to watch...
Rosie, you were "treed"? Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaaaaaaah! NO you weren't... you climbed it yourself to look in your neighbors windows! Did you guys ever do that at night when you were little? I didn't either.....
There's LucyLu! Having a double! Aren't they GOOD? But try a Bocce' Ball! That is Orange juice, with Vodka and Amaretto over ice, with lots of cherries..... YOU remember! Just kidding.....
Jazzy, I use Advair too! Not all the time, but I think the humidity really DOES make your Asthma kick in... Okay, so now I am as sick of the rain as I am of the snow.... I just want to be warm, and dry... and beautiful.
Loverly, there is enough fur there for to make a whole CAT! That didn't come from that DOG did it? After our Lacee passed away, I found some of her fur... I used to put her on the picnic table, and brush her almost every day... And we got tons of fur from her... But a hand-full was stuck in a little flower pot, and I brought it in, and kept it with her other little memories...
Morning Spookers! I'd like a shout-out for how organized I am this morning, talking to all of you! Yes, I KNOW, it is beautiful out there.... Don't go sendin' any more pictures of that temperature stuff... You want to meet for coffee today? With Sass? Wouldn't that be fun???
Rosie, our Lacee was that friendly also... She loved everything, and everybody... ! Not much of a watch dog... although she was GREAT at watching everything!
Blondie... Do I have to come out there and talk to your Doc's? Getting away would be soooo good for you! Tell them we said so...
Marla, we have a neighbor dog named Thanos! After some Greek God or something... He is the BIGGEST Great Dane you have ever seen!!!!!!!!! But he is the sweetest, most gentle dog I have ever met! Known him since he was a puppy... would let him in our yard to run around under the trees and race to the back-yard... But he is SO big, he could just bump into you and you'd be flying into next week... !
Yes Spookie, Lacee is also my Avatar... but you knew that... And yes again, we should all meet in Florida! Go see those two wild women.... Blondie, they mean you.... No Sass... Not Miami... I've seen how wild those people get on South Beach! Is that where Spookie hangs out?
MAGS!!!!!!!!!! Our Chevy dog that we used to have got VERY sick like that one time... The Vet said he somehow got poisoned... I remembered spraying weed killer out back, around where the tall grass grew, and he DID eat grass... But he finally got better...! Scared me half-to-death!
Is your dog okay now? Both of them?
There's HiHo.... rescuing us with the drinks! Don't they look good? Yes, it's never to early for a cock-tail... I COULD put Bailey's Irish Cream in this cup of COFFEE I have here..... ! Hah!
Oh so LucyLu was a cock-tail girl? Like in a bar? Alone with all those men? It's a wonder I didn't see you there, whilst I was dancing on that pole!
-
Whew! I need to go back to bed!!!! Chevy wore me out.
For our first anniversary a loooooong time ago, DH asked me what I wanted. I said a puppy. Been stuck in apts for a year, I needed a dog. Off to the shelter, came home with a Belgian Tervuen. Very good boy!!! Got me hooked on the herding breeds. Brains and beauty. Have a plaque says no outfit is complete without dog hair. So true.
Sas, agree about Miami.
-
Mags- I am sorry about your sweet dog, Nacho. Let us know how he does with the vet. Hopefully he will get better and pull through. I am rooting for him.
-
Marla, lover , mags. - love the dog pics
SAS / proud mama. - hooray for your son!
Chevy - were you drinking at like 8am ?
Blondie - I so hope you get to go to FL ! Maybe you'll find a young man in a tight speedo on the beach to have a quick beach romance or quickie - whichever works for you.
2nd - miss ya
Hello and hugs to all
Hootie hoo
-
Well Peppy, I got up at 4:15.... You all just have to come join me, with your happy little personalities, and have fun talking about nothing! Ha!
-
It's 8:44 and I am up! I was also up at 3:30... more melatonin and flipping and flopping until I went back to sleep. I swear what ever it is they have me on has just trashed my ability to sleep. ugh.. But I am on my first IV drip of coffee and that should fix myself. Then out of zombie land.Speaking of Zombies... where is Mombiezombie?
Love all the dog pictures. Mags I hope your dog is better and home. I must have come from another generation.. everybody we know is into craft beer and independent vinyards - oh and frilly coffee drinks. Must be a Pacific Northwest thing. No one does mixed drinks. Or I could just be weird... and have weird friends and that is highly probable. Odd duck from day one.
-
For Marla
For Teka and us CA girls.
-
3 am here.. and yep.. I'm awake !! I hate it.!!
-
Lucy-It so sucks doesn't it?! No one is up at 3am and you have to be quiet so as not to wake anyone else up... OY! I am off to replace a tire. what fun.
-
It had to be the blue drink Lucy!

Ms. Chevy may be a septuagenarian, but I think she has the most energy of us all. I can't keep up with her either Ms. Spookie.
Love the posts, Smaarty.
Rose, hey.....you are up and moving. Boring is good sometimes, especially when we have more energy and less pain. The bad days help us appreciate the good ones.
You are not the only odd ball, you have company..... I have no clues what is what in the mixed drinks. I do like the taste of a good beer especially with oysters or any seafoods...yum. I can never get drunk though because my bladder can't handle more than one bottle or can haha. The only time I was buzzed was while waiting for our meals I had sample the different beers they offered at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse on an EMPTY stomach. Oops! I was chatting and giggling away.
You see Patty, all you have to ask the is the question "why so quiet on this forum" .........
My Big Sis Jazzy, how are you with your breathing?
Ms. Blondie, I really really really hope you can get away. Would the warmer and more humid Florida air bother your breathing ? I hope not.
Agh!!! Can't get rid of the bold. It was only meant for Ms. Blondie. Stupid iPad.
Mag, I know it has been mentioned already, but i really hope that your babies are ok. Ms. Sas has a good point about getting a new bag of food.
Hello to everyone.
