I have had surgical nipples and then tattoo's. I think I would have rather just had the tattoo's, because of the scars involving the surgical nipples, you can still see the scars, the tattoo's did not cover them completelly. I had mine tattoo's done by Vinny Myers in New Orleans.

I had 3d tattoos w Vinnie. I flew to Baltimore. He has a couple other guys in his shop who do the 3d tattoos and I have heard great things about their work. One of the good things to come out of all this is that I no longer worry about nips showing.

I've been giving this some thought since my diep and I think I'm going for both. My surgeon showed me pics of some of her work and she does a "low profile" that I liked. Definitely want to do the 3D but will not be able yo travel to see Vinnie, luckily there is someone a few hours away that has good Reviews. It's hard to know what to do when faced with one natural breast and resulting nipple reaction!

I plan on "treating" myself to a "Vinnie" when get all work completed! Been at this since Jan 2014 and keep thinking maybe in 6 mo? Then hit the wall-complications! But that is definitely my end goal! Char

I'm your Charlotte peep. My doctor thought Hayley Lakeman did good 3D nipples. I went to Mark T Evans for some flowers instead, but he does 3D nipples for a local doctor also. Mark just put my picture up on his instagram page a couple weeks ago if you want to see.

I'm thinking of buying a set of silicone prosthetic nips for now and then when all settles and I'm sure I don't need any more work, having tatoos. www.pinkperfect.com. Anyone have these?

I had nipple reconstruction AND 3D tattoos. Very happy.

I was undecided but my PS says nips look really nice, so I'll be taking his advice. I was worried about them being too big, but he said he can make them any size I want and if they are too big he can cut them down (ewww that sounds creepy).
I'll be going to Vinne for the tats.
I'm having stage 2 DIEP on Wednesday. I thought I'd be getting nips, but was disappointed to learn not yet. He said only the lift this time and the nips will be done in the office in two months.

did insurance cover of Vinnie? How much does he charge if insurance dont cover? How many times did you have to go see him? Does he do them all at one time? Sorry about all the questions... Im really wanting bot

I too was wondering if anyone's insurance covered Vinnie?

I had nipple reconstruction last March. The thing is... They both shrunk almost 60 and 50%. The right one looks a little bit smaller than the left one ( I think... Because I used to sleep on my right side and I didn't notice after the next morning) . They are round and really look nice, ironically my mother had the same procedure and her nipples stayed the me same size... huge.
I can't wait to get the tattoo.

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been here. I had bilateral delayed tram flap in 2010 with nipple recon that shrank to almost gone. I was tired of procedures, so never did tattoos. I am now feeling motivated again & am wondering about redoing the nipple for better projection & areola graft. Anyone have experience/advice for me and recommendations for a great surgeon? I really miss having nipples as silly as that sounds!
