Bonfire of the Goddesses

Are lots of people missing from here... or am I just imagining it.?
-
Lucy, you aren't imaging it, there are some conspicuously absent, including me. For me, I just kept putting reading here off till bedtime, then I would barely start reading, and zonk out... But it is good to be here today.
Ducky, I hope sincerely that this go round with rehab is the one that clicks for him, and he can stay clean. It IS possible, I have intimate knowledge of addiction. It is very fine that he has a deeply loving family, who does not ditch him for this. There are street boys who never make it back, and I hope for you that he is one who does.
Also you can pm me a photo of the wound left after the melanoma was removed. Nothing I like better than having a nice squeamish moment, I am so medically curious, but still shudder!
Blondie, wow! That was a nice long post from you! I am glad you are still visiting the bonfire.
Poppy, grumpiness is underated. I think it is a highly appropriate state of mind sometimes, but luckily not permanent. You will know when the grumpiness has left, it does often enough to know that you are still you.
Love to my wild warm women, dancing in the ashes.

Well, I had a very nice evening at my middle son's marching band banquet. Since I was undergoing chemo, I missed chaperoning and spending time with the kids this season. It was wonderful to see the kids, so many friends of my two oldest boys, and the great, supportive parents. I had a great time.
And I didn't throw a fit when one of the mom's suggested that I introduce myself to "Kelly", because she is currently undergoing treatment for sarcoma. ;-) It was easy for me to locate "Kelly", because she was bald. I did introduce myself because everyone needs support. At the very least, she got to see what hair looks like 5 mos after chemo ends.
-
I am somewhat new, but seems like less posts lately.I work, so I cannot talk often, but like the distraction and support here.
-
poppy
How gracious you are? You were well within your rights as vested by the aforementioned Goddesses (sp?) to say STFU - but you did not.............
I liken this to racial profiling, such as when a new family moves in and someone says you should meet so and so, because they are also .green midgets, bald whatever the case.................
Hope everyone has A FANTASTIC WEEKEND,
IT IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE!
-
Kathy.......we meet one every so often............good for you Poppy...........what is the first thing you think when you see a woman with a bald head.
She's trying to make a fashion statement.......REALLY............I don't think so...........Phew.
By the way nothing from my son yet about his Pathology...............he isn't like his Mother.....I would have been on the phone when the offices opened.........
-
Thanks still having trouble seeing
-
Blondie.. Sorry about the eyes.. Is there anything they can do to help..
Poppy... I'm sure Kelly appreciated the fact you introduced yourself.. and she could see that life continues after cancer treatment, and yes., the hair does grow back.!
Ducky.. I always want my results pronto too.. I go back to the doctors and make them ring through to pathology to see what's going on.
Kathy.. Lots of help and distraction here.. I love the bonfire.!
-
Tomboy.. Great to see you..😃
-
Tomboy, you are so funny - you want to see the nitty, gritty! You remind me of neice who just graduated from nursing school. She likes treating wounds! I am guessing she likes to see the progress, but boy am I glad someone else looks. I generally pour large quantities of antiseptic while looking away and hope it its near or around injury. No one has actually died under my care............that I know of.
-
I did call him, and asked if he heard anything.............he said NO, so I told him to call........he did, and they told him they thought it would be back today, but now they said not till Tuesday..................so we wait.........ugh......
-
Ducky.. Double ugh.. Waiting is the pits.!
-
Blondie, hope they figure out how to help you with your eye issues. Sorry you have to deal with this, too.
Ducky, I don't like waiting either. Glad he called... so many men just don't listen!
Kathy, You mean everyone with cancer doesn't know each other?! LOL
I forgot to mention, that when Kelly started talking to me, one of the first things she asked me was if I burned during rads. I did... like a crispy chicken. Then, she told me she has rads to her upper thigh area... and her private, sensitive area is burned and blistered. We just met, and we went quickly to talking about boobs and hoohas! That's what cancer can do... make you strip through all of that baloney and say what really concerns you.
-
Poppy.. Yep.. I like your description of how cancer let's us strip through all the baloney.. and I guess that's exactly why BCO is so good.. We can come here.. and know that everyone else here knows and understands..
-
FK... No party this month.? I miss you !!
-
thank you for caring I'm going to the doctor on Friday I can get some I think it is the morphine
-
Blondie, I thought if you were on hospice, THEY are the ones who are SUPPOSED to help you with managing any pain or issues. That is what palliative medicine is supposed to do too, but when you are in hospice, like my friend was, they took care of ALL of that stuff for her. No more doctors, because that is part of the pain in the ass about it all. However it happens, I am keeping you in my thoughts everday, imaginary invisible and really really good and gentle hugs to you, sweetie pie pie
-
Tom that probably is true but I've chosen to go to still go to my doctor my oncologist is my primary also and I have chosen to continue going and having an office visit with him monthly and that's why I have to go to you on Friday hospice I am on the hospice and hospice is doing my meds they ordered them but they go by what he says and I want to go talk to him about it he's the one that makes the situation what medication I'm on not them and I wouldn't talk to him about the morphine and I really want to go to Florida so I want to talk to me about that and there's some other things I want to talk to him, plus it gets me out of the house cuz I don't have a vehicle.
Sandy
-
Oh Blondie! So sorry you are in pain. I hope you know that I think about you all the time! Hugs and prayers!
-
Blondie.. Sending love and hugs... It sounds like your oncologist is best one to organize your medication for you., and it is nice to get out of the house.
-
When my friend sally needed hospice, hospice gave her everything! But I took her anywhere she wanted, I wish someone would take you everywhere, blondie.
-

-
Did you ever think, your life can't get worse...................and they does...........
-
Daisyloverwhat a great gift !
-
Ducky? -
Ducky.. What has happened ?
Blondie.. So glad you had a fun time out shopping.!! 😃
-
Blondie, So glad you got a nice visit and shopping done, too.
Ducky, Unfortunately, yes I have experienced things getting worse when I thought they were as bad as they could get. I'm sorry you are in this situation. When it happened to me, it involved a situation with my boy. I'm thinking about you and praying for you. When you feel up to sharing, I will be here. ((Hugs))
-
Poppy - well said, we will all be here! -
