Didn't turn out as well as planned

It's not the best news, but it's not the worst. I was more afraid of chemo and radiation. I was afraid that would kill me. I am so glad they are treating it with a hormone pill. I know you were all pulling for me. So thanks. I'm going to do OK. I have a baby cockatiel who thinks I am his mother. He won't interact with anyone but me. As a matter of fact he is wanting me to remove the cage cover now. I guess he is ready to start his day.
-
dune,
Your cockatiel is adorable!
I have been following your updates, and I am so sorry that it looks like you have had a recurrence. Will they be doing biopsies on any of the lumps? Especially to make sure you are still dealing with ER+?
-
Dune, thanks for including the photo of your feathered friend.I just wanted to suggest that being persistent about keeping your vitamin D level up can make a difference.

Thanks . And yes there will be a biopsy. I don't know when yet. My Vitamin D levels are very good, and I get them checked regularly. Since it may have gone to the bone I have to make sure to have lots of calcium and vitamin D. I'll try to get most of my calcium from food, especially vegetables and fish.

So happy you can just do the hormone pill, it sounds safer than chemo/radiation.
I am taking exemestane I did anastrozole for almost a year and a half until SE were bad. It seemed to me like a cumulative effect. Nice thing is onco can take you on and off them or change them. Good luck.

no chemo nor rads????
Well I'm so happy for that
Love ur little child

Something simple is make some bone broth soup, immediately. Great for the kidneys (lymphedema), digestion, bones. Loaded with bioavailable minerals. Have at least 1 to 2 cups a day. It would be best to use organic meat. Just do the best u can. Recipes all over internet. Don't give up. I have had so many set backs. When u fall down, you don't just stay on the ground, right? No, u get back up again. Stage 4 is totally doeable.
-
I passed your suggestion on to my mom, so she makes lots and lots of bone broth. And Divecat, I don't think they did a biopsy this time. That's interesting. I should ask my oncologist (which is probably a new oncologist since I was last chatting here). I am now doing Taxol too. It went to my lungs. I hope this doctor is being aggressive enough. Sometimes I have to laugh at that. I wouldn't let the other one do anything because I was bound and determined that proper eating and avoidance of chemicals would take care of it. I guess it did ok, lasting for 2 years. Unfortunately, I stopped eating well when I moved in with my mother -- and it's gotten even worse since the chemo. Way too much sweets. Everyday, I determine to do better. We'll see how that goes. I hope you are all doing well.
-
dune - if you want some sweets, get those dried fruits that's non sweetened. Or dark chocolate.
How are you doing/feeling? I hope mentally you are stronger. Sometimes mental happiness help
-
I think our mental state has very much to do with how well we do overall, June. I've been doing fine. Hope you are too.
