    Hi Shelly. I'm 38 (37 at diagnosis). I'm BRCA neg. my doctor has me on Lupron every 3 months plus Aromasin (AI) pill daily.

    Ill be having a hysterectomy this month though. So that will eliminate the Lupron.

    Yes, there was a trial called the soft trial that showed really encouraging results with ovarian suppression and then put on an AI. I am actually opting for a total hysterectomy(due to fibroids and other issues) instead of taking the Lupron shots. I am currently on Tamoxifen but after my surgery will be switched to an AI.

    How do you mean?

    The only thing I really notice is when I don't take Aleeve everyday, my joints get extremely sore. Real bad muscle and joint pain. But if I take Aleeve (2in am) I'm ok.

    My hysterectomy is in about 10 days, so I won't be getting Lupron anymore. But will still be on the AI inhibitor.

    I haven't had kids yet. I guess I was holding on to that last shred of hope so I haven't considered doing a ooph yet.

    Zoladex shot and AI is an option my dr gave me, or tamoxifen alone. I need to do my research on best choice!

    My doc is acting like tamoxifen is my only alternative. I am 38. I have no interest in having kids at any time in the future, does that make a difference in what they choose?

    Nothing yet - I still have 2 more weeks of chemo followed by radiation before I start on the hormone therapy. Are you in Raleigh, by any chance?

    Molly, I'm Holli!! I'm also 38. What month is your bday? Just curious :0)

    I have 3 children. I know my MO is doing the Lupron and AI (Aromason) due to the recent studies. I wonder the same as you ... Maybe Tamoxifen in case you want children later?? I'm not sure.

    I'm having a hysterectomy next week. So then I will only be doing AI and not Lupron.

    Me too! (Duke Raleigh). I need to ask my MO more questions about this Lupron business, I guess. I asked him about having my ovaries removed but he acted like it was unnecessary.

    Did he just recommend Tamoxifen only for you without Lupron? Mine wants to put me on Lupron + Femara, but I would much rather do Tamoxifen only. I'm definitely not ready to remove my ovaries since that is totally irreversible. Your stats look pretty low risk, so that's prob why he blew it off. I think it may be overkill. I go to Duke Durham.

    Molly and Holli....Hi! I was diagnosed at 38yrs old, just had my 40th bday in April! I have 3 kids as well and am done having kids so having my ovaries removed is not an issue for me except for the whole menopause thing(which I am not thrilled with but if it helps reduce the chances of the Cancer returning I am all for it!!). I am on Tamoxifen currently but am having a hysterectomy after the summer.....once the the kids get back in school. Then I will switch to an AI.

    I am on Tamoxifen now....my period stopped during chemo but it returned 5 months later! So, yes I do have periods

    Hi there, I am 39 and started tamoxifen 3 months ago - the first month my period was a few days late and the second month a few more days late, now this month I am a week late. I wonder if it is going to continue that way or stop all together. OH and the other thing, every month before my period I get a yeast infection.. UGH! Any one else have that issue?

    I am home from my hysterectomy. It ended up being open because my lungs (having radiation pneumonitis) weren't strong enough to handle the position needed for laparoscopic (head below heart).

    My OB/GYN said my ovaries did not look post menapausal like they should have with my being on Lupron for almost a year. So I'm glad we made the decision to remove everything.

    I'm sore (she cut me along my C-section scar) and tired. But I'm also very sad and depressed. I'm assuming because of the whole hormone, surgery, medication thing.

    I'm glad surgery went well. Hang in there. Removing ovaries has to be a major shock to our systems.

    Hi, I was Diagnosed at the age of 36, I'm 38 now and they found a lump on my neck. Waiting to do Pet scan.

    I have two kids 8 and 3 and I'm really scared, I cry all the time.

    theziz, so sorry to hear as well, but what someone told me before is don't worry until you know for sure there is something to be worried about! I hope and pray the pet scan results are negative! Please keep us posted. Maybe you can try talking to a therapist or getting on an anti depressant?

    I have not been diagnosed and I see there is a board for those waiting results but I've been drawn to this board because I'm 31. I found a small lump, like a grain of rice near my nipple. It's very close to the skin and you can even see it if you flatten my skin down around it. I'm a small B cup and have had 3 kids. Lol. My mammogram said to dense and nodular. The ultrasound showed very light shadowing and just a white speck right under the skin where the lump is. The Dr said he thinks it's a calcium deposit and I have a biopsy scheduled in 2 days. People say I'm young so no worries. But I'm pretty shook up. I have no idea what my family history is. I know I have that epidermal growth factor thing cause I have had keloids in the past. Yeah just nervous.

    mrsraymond I hope your results were in your favor! I went to the doctors August 2013 for a lump the doctor told me not to worry about it I have no family history, I knew in the back of my mind something wasn't right. I was diagnosed 4/14/15 with Stage IIB and am currently undergoing chemo before surgery. Follow your instincts! I wish I would have I could be done and over with this! Stay positive :)

    Hi girls,

    How are you? I so wish you are allwell and doing great.

    The PET scan lit up on my hip and a little bit on my liver. I'm on 100 mg of Ibrance and Femara and Xgeva and zoladex.

    Will have another PET in two months. Meanwhile I have a blood test done next week and I hope and wish all is good.

    Tanyah, thank-you. I'm glad you shared your mom's story.

    Turned 39 weeks beforewith two kids (ages 2 and 5), two dogs, and a lovely husband when I was diagnosed.

    As a "funny"? aside - my biggest day to day problem is my "stuffing" sliding into my armpit or up my neckas I work (I'm a high school teacher so I worry about weird looks from my students and hope nothing has shifted too far) I am really hoping to get surgery to tidy things up soon (I'd like my other lumpy bumpy breast removed prophylactically and because the asymmetry is driving me nuts) but I've been told to wait and think about it. As soon as I do I plan to get some decent prosthetics with something to hold them in place.

    Any "funny"? stories here?

     I was dx w IDC, grade 2 at 2cm.  I am 39.  Meeting w the BS tomorrow and fertility special Wednesday.  I'll check back in after I schedule surgery and get treatment recommendation.
