Why
Another shooting in a school? What is going on? I can't believe someone can just walk into a school unnoticed and start shooting...My heart goes out to the parents and the kids who will never be the same. xoxo

I just read that also and couldnt believe it. School is supposed to be a safe place. My SO teaches and makes you stop and think for sure.

People are going insane if you ask me! Very scary!
-
The whole world seems to be upside down these days. It's very, very sad.
-
I just don't get it either..the whole thing is very very sad and scarey! What is this world coming to!!!
-
These poor people just keep to themselves with no mean thoughts and are so harmless. Such an easy target.
-
It's so sad. In this case it was easy to go unnoticed because it was a one room school house in the middle of nowhere. In their own community there is no crime rate, no violence, no gangs, just their families and their faith. I live about 1 hour away from Lancaster and have been there often. Such nice people that just want the simple life. They have not said one bad word about the shooter or his family. Their way is to forgive and move on and let God handle the rest. Don't you wish you could do that?
-
Now some idiot politician in Wisconsin is suggesting teachers be armed with guns in the classroom!
Geez louise - somebody thinks we should PUT guns into the schools to make them safer? That's about as twisted as it gets. -
This makes me even sadder.
Amish girl asked to be shot to save others
My heart goes out to those who lost their precious children. -
This is a sad story indeed. Why oh why, tell all the boys and teachers to leave, and then methodically shoot these poor little girls - so full of innocence.
The Amish have always interested me. Their way of life. To be able to forgive someone who has done such a terrible thing - wow. I couldnt do that.
And I heard about putting guns in the teachers hands. This is outrageous.
Figure, when this is all over, its gonna make a good Lifetime movie.
So sad.

Djd...uh...I thought this was a pm in response to your post, but now that it's here, and I didn't exactly curse...I guess I'll leave it...
Sure, just what we need...a pms'ing teacher with a gun in a classroom...I just read your post...like Hello??????
It's bad enough our pilots need them in the cockpits....
I think metal detectors and police at the entrance of every school sounds more sane, no?
I read an op/ed piece in my paper the other day that made me want to home-school my kids...something like..."When you worry about sending your kids to school, putting them on the bus...will they come home?"...disgusting...
I get so angry when I just waltz in and out of my kids' schools...I could be ANYONE!
Ok you got me going...I think I'll be at the next Board Meeting...
Our Middle School (which is notorious for being "rough") does have locked doors and you do have to be buzzed in...and the kids cannot get out during the day without permission...and I live in a suburban NJ town! Practically in the damn woods...
Like someone mentioned years ago...keep selling guns...just charge like $5,000 for each bullet...I don't know the answers...but I guess we really have to start making some noise...I'm good at that...and I hate guns...
OK, just catching up on the boards...your post got me going hahahah....give teacher's guns....duh...it's bad enough some of them have sex with the kids...now he wants to give them the opportunity to kill them? Who's this yutz?
Have a great weekend...Mena...xo -
One of the little girls that survived was taken off life support at the request of her parents and taken home. Her parents want her to die at home with her family by her side. What a horrible thing to have to go through. This act of violence is a big part of why the Amish stay in their own little world. Sadly, it didn't save them from it.
-
Just to add fuel to the fire! How can we protect our dear children. First this terrible assault on the Amish and now a predator in congress preying on young boys.
It all makes me sick to my stomach.

My dad, who I think is a very wise man, has told me many times...
"you can never make sense of a senseless act or ever really understand a truly crazy person. Trying to do so will just lead to your own insanity".

They arrested a high school patrol office for trying to abduct a 15yr old from a bus stop today. He kept his school uniform on while stalking kids.
This guy is around young kids everday!! -
For a humorous look at the idiotic suggestion about arming the teachers, check out Stephen Colbert's recent segment:
