This thread has been dormant for awhile, but I just came across an article I thought might be worth sharing here, since the subject of cordycep mushrooms was touched on earlier... http://www.integrativeoncology-essentials.com/2012...

dlb- Interesting article. I used to be a transplant nurse so know the Cyclosporine drug very well and yes any of these anti rejection drugs suppress the immune system to stop the attacker B cells from multiplying and to keep fooling the body in to thinking that new kidney really belongs there. Any cancer will grow rapidly when taking these drugs as well as Prednisone will (a steroid) . Thanks for posting.

Grammy, thanks for that added information. The fact that Cyclosporine A is used to inhibit the immune system from rejecting a donated organ creates a very compelling image of it's ability to mess with our immune systems. The mushroom supplement I've been using for a short time now (Host Defense Stamets 7) is suppose to contain beneficial cordycep mushroom extract, per Dr. Brian Lewanda. But I'm not nearly as keen on it now.
